The landscape of NFL broadcasting is in for a major shakeup.

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports that Troy Aikman, who has worked at Fox for two decades, is on the verge of jumping not to Amazon, the company with which he’d been linked for months, but to ESPN for Monday Night Football.

Marchand adds that the deal is not yet done, but that it’s expected to be finalized. It’s also expected, per Marchand, to be comparable to the $18 million annual salary that Tony Romo gets from CBS — if not more.

The move means that Brian Griese and Louis Riddick will exit the Monday Night Football booth. Play-by-play announcer Steve Levy likely also will be reassigned.

The next question becomes who will Aikman’s partner be? Al Michaels reportedly wanted Aikman at Amazon; would Michaels go to ESPN instead? Would Fox allow Joe Buck to exit the company to continue his longstanding partnership with Aikman?

The broadcast means nothing to me.

If I want to see a game I watch it, if I don't it doesn't matter who is calling the game.

I'm shocked they are paid as much as they are and people think the ratings have any bearing on it at all.

No one is providing info that is worth about a million a game to anyone.

You're one person. Visit social media during a broadcast, or this board, and you'll see it matters to a lot of people.

I tend to agree with you. It's mostly white noise to me but a lot of folks get very emotional about what they say.

Don’t do it, Troy. Stick with Joe Buck. Although, he’d do just the one game per week so I get why it is intriguing to him.

I dislike Buck with the power of 10,000 suns. If Aikman going to BSPN means Buck is on Cowboys games less often then I'm good. Maybe he'll retire or just stick to baseball, those are even better options.

If anything, the game is SO much different now than when a guy like Aikman played....I don't really see where he provides insight much at all.

All I know is.....when I tune into that 4:25 EST game in November I don't care who says what in the booth....its about what happens on the field.

I won't not watch if they half botch it.

Who’s the lead dawg on the broadcast ? Going to miss Troy talking up the Cowboys on Fox games while he gets stuck doing Miami vs Seattle or whatever left overs they throw the Monday night games.

The Cowboys are too much of a ratings draw to do too many of these other then Sunday affairs.
