This is the annual Cowboys front office off season “process”- tell the fans “we can’t afford good FAs because of the cap and the future”, then dumpster dive for “affordable” FAs, sell every draft pick as a future pro bowler, then act surprised when they either don’t make the playoffs or lose early.

Wash, rinse, repeat. And sell the fans starting in training camp that this is a SB roster.

Meanwhile, teams with a great front office like the rams, bucs, chiefs, packers, ravens, etc. somehow (under the same cap rules Stephen Jones whines about) are able to sign quality free agents and get under the cap. It’s not like this is some kind of state secret to get under the cap.

It really speaks volumes of how committed they are to putting a true contender on the field. You have a good team right now. Go for it over the next few years. It doesn't take teams 10 years to rebuild anymore. The 49ers are a good example of that.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Why should we follow the Rams' plan?

Remember when we spent years trying to replicate the Patriots?

Stephen Jones is too smart to fall for the banana in the tailpipe again.

He is going to follow the "draft and develop" approach which has worked for, well, nobody.

They’ve rebuilt about four separate times compared to us

Meanwhile, as with a great front office like the rams, bucs, chiefs, packers, ravens, etc. somehow (under the same cap rules Stephen Jones whines about) are able to sign quality free agents and get under the cap. It’s not like this is some kind of state secret to get under the cap.

Clearly, you don't know what you are talking about. The cap is real.

This Cowboys team can be a really good team with key player additions. I liked what they did in 21, although they failed in a couple important locations. They desperately need a 1T, OG, OC and edge players on both lines. Another LB will be great also. These positions are minimum requirements

I agree with you that ‘21 free agency was a little better than most years. But let’s be honest, that bar is set pretty low. And going into a season clearly needing upgrades at 3 positions and yet not addressing it “for cap reasons” is not ever going to get it done.

Agreed BH. My list above includes the draft because I realize FA will probably be slim pickings on bringing in new significant players. Both lines need significant improvements

While some of us here have had enough of "the process", and aren't buying what the Jones boys are selling, just pop over to Twitter and you'll see thousands of Cowboys fans already talking Super Bowl again next season.
Some call those fans loyalists and diehards. I guess I got old, because I see them as suckers setting themselves up to be disappointed, again. But who knows? Maybe the 30-year plan will actually come together in 2022?

They may have lost faith and need to see more from Dak. Why isnt that reasonable. They dont believe as yet he is the big game finisher to risk ‘all in’.
Many here have lost faith

Still can't wrap my head around Jerry and Stephen, seeing how close we are to being THAT TEAM and continue to say" we can't mortgage the future." WE GOTTA HAVE A NOW AT SOMEPOINT WHEN YOU KEEP TALKING FUTURE! Their thinking is just comical. I will give you guys odds the Chiefs, Bills, Titans, and 49ers will make moves where needed and be a better football team.
