Same M.O. as during the Garrett years. They do this before the Gallup deal so they not only ruin Cooper being traded, Gallup can ask for what he wants. We’re playing checkers.
Exactly. If I’m Gallup, I’m upping my asking price.

Remember, his effort was questioned by the Raiders, so this could be true.

Honestly, this is nothing new for WRs.......hell, I remember John Madden broadcasting games and you have WRs involved early or they'll drift on ya. Even said it about Jerry Rice........
So while there's probably some truth, it's kinda a positional thing too IMO.

Since I only watched that game once, live, I didn't pay particular attention to Cooper and I have no plans to ever watch that embarrassment again.

Singling out Cooper with only 17 points scored and he scored 6 of those, 14 penalties committed and 170 yards rushing to a team that they knew coming in had to run the ball more than any team in the playoffs and falling behind, again, in a home playoff game by double digits seems a little myopic to me.

Seems to be they have a lot of candidates for problem players during that game. And can start with their coaching staff.

Listening to Booger, I could tell on his radio interview that he was HIGHLY PO'd about Cooper missing two games for not being vaccinated.....wondered at the time if his fate wasn't already sealed.

Maybe Dallas shouldn’t leak stuff like this but they are the Dallas Cowboys. Teams like the Bengals have like two reporters covering them at any given time whereas the Cowboys have hundreds of vultures circling the franchise just hoping for anything click bait worthy. Besides, it’s not like what is being said about Cooper isn’t exactly true.

Could have been, I know I would have a problem with any player I am paying 20M to not doing everything within his control to be available to play. There were certain expectations with that fat contract and they were not unrealistic.

Increasing that trade value. Worthless front office.
I hear you Z, but there is no trade value for Coop at that contact rate.

He will be cut, not traded.

They have been looking to trade him for at least 3 weeks and see that all of the other 31 teams (just like Dallas) have no interest in him at that price.

Just a simple question for the board.

What is Dallas doing so bad by cutting Cooper at this contract price?

As far as we can tell, they have been shopping him since the season ended and NO teams have wanted to pay that salary for that player either.

He couldn't coast at Bama, too many 4-5 stars waiting to replace him. He changed when her went to the Raiders and at times his body language on the sideline was all wrong. I thought he needed a change and when he got to DAL, he was different and had immediate impact.

I do think a mistake was made with him. Give up a 1st to get him and then spend another 1st on Lamb when there were more pressing needs on that team.

I know there were posters here saying "ya gotta take him" but you know 16 other teams didn't.

He’s also fat, and poorly conditioned. Dude was never worth a 1st round pick and certainly not worth a 20 m per year contract. He needed to go. By any means necessary.

You've got standards he failed to meet.

They have no choice if they want to keep some other players that are up.

Any team that trades for him has to give something up and take on that contract. They release him, it's a matter of how much he wants and where he wants to go. He's from Miami and there's a Bama QB down there and in NE. One in PHL too if he's really pissed at the Cowboys.

it is that simple

they are doing nothing wrong, but fans like to create drama act as if other teams do not do the same thing yearly.

Thank you! I said prior to the season that he looked fat in the face and had a Romo butt, but many here said that I was crazy....his face in some pics actually bears a striking resemblance to Arnold Drummond.

Honestly, I would have more respect for them if they just came out and said the truth, that with their cap situation, it just makes sense to cut/trade Cooper. I know math. I know the cap pretty well. I can see why they are cutting him.

Trying to tell me he's a bad apple who took off plays in games is BS.
I have been saying this for the last couple of months. It is a huge problem when Wilson was your best route runner and arguably your best wr the last 6 or so weeks of the season.

Real cowardly stuff from the Joneses here. If you think he quit, don’t leak it to one of your media sympathizers anonymously- have the guts to put your name on it.

"(The Cowboys) thought they had a team that could go far the playoffs - maybe even to the Super Bowl," the league source said. "But with the season on the line, (Cooper) kind of shrunk. It might sound unfair to judge an entire season by a couple of plays. But in the end for them it was ... just very disappointing."

This organization can't possibly be using this as justification to cut Amari and then turn around and re-sign Randy Gregory after the crap he pulled vs the 49ers right??

I’m of the mindset that talent can only take you so far. When a player is overweight, looks poorly conditioned, and generally appears to not care, that speaks volumes about the player. Especially a player making 20 m per year.

This is poor player management. A strong, confident FO would wish him well and keep this kind of garbage out of the media. And, fish should be ***** slapped for reporting it.
They want the fan base to hate him. It’s all about the image of the infallible star.

And fans demand loyalty out of players. Yeah, okay. Say what you will about Dak's contract so far but after the team leaked that Dak wanted $40M to make him look bad the year before, as a player I wouldn't have signed for less than $40M a year out of ironic principle (revenge, to the layperson). Loyalty my left nutcase.
They know their fan base.
