Schultz isn't 20 times better than McKeon. In fact they have the same skill set. Not worth 12 million but if I had to choose for some reason Id go Schultz over Gregory for twice the money.

Although I can't agree that it's easier to find an effective pass rusher as opposed to a TE in the draft.

Gregory just isn't worth that kind of money. He should get less than the tag amount guaranteed over the life of a long deal.

But never know when it comes to Jerry and his pets. Gregory is 100% on that list.

I am a poster first and that is my opinion as I am neither a hater nor a homer about any player.

I think the majority of posters here fall into neither category as well, they're fans of the team not defenders of players. Just as with Romo, I see warts I call them out and I see them with the QB, the WR's, the LG and C and while I like Schultz, but if they want to be a run team, they need a better blocking TE for 10M.

And as a mod, I have yet to find the potion for posters from going at each other but I do not try to instigate it, just referee it as best I can.

But thanks coach, for thinking I am a great mod, not sure many share your opinion.

10M is better than 20M for a laughing mistake. Schultz is the 4th WR, not the TE, he can't block any better than the WR's. And the QB needs his blankie when he's afraid to go after the NFL open WR's down the field.

Dak was blind when he had a full staff in place, couldnt see the field.
How will Dak see the field with Lamb, a hopeful Gallup, and basically nothing else.
Its going to be so much fun for a QB that was scared to throw the ball into soft zone 2021,, teams in 2022 probably wont even play DBs vs Dallas... vs Dak.

If fans made the decision on who we should pay and how much we would be 0-17 every year. U have to pay top of the market to get or keep anyone that’s top 10 at their position. I think it’s because fans get emotional when they hear how much money it is.

You may not like Schultz as a blocker but he is a top 10 TE and what’s your plan to replace the production? TE as a security blanket is critical to Dak. You want to bring witten out of retirement? You can’t just dial 1-800-TOP10-TIGHTEND.

Yep and they have to decide what they're going to be. If that's a passing team, he's proven himself to be reliable and they have ?'s right now at WR's 1, 3 and 4.

If the OL does not improve, a player like Schultz might end up the most valuable piece of the receiving puzzle. The Niners have to have a blocking TE and WR's, their offense is predicated on it.

Novacek's strength was not blocking but remove him from that offense with 5 HOFers on it and it suffers.

I do not even see a choice between Schultz and Gregory. This is a team that rides the offense and that's become the passing offense and Schultz is a key to that as well as keeping continuity with changes coming on the WR corps.

But then I am biased as Gregory is my least favorite Cowboy player in a very long time. That fool laughing after those penalties is my most vivid recollection of that playoff game.

Maybe I should have preference that I would try to work out a contract with Gregory before franchising Schultz. I would not franchise any of them. They don’t deserve it especially Schultz.
