if he can cut down on the timing of his penalties then itll be good for them

but oh my ....
40 yard gain...holding
convert 3th down...holding
get momentum on a drive ...holding

Now we’re stuck with McGovern who was worse than Williams. He was given an opportunity but the Cowboys ended up going back to Williams because McGovern can’t run block.

Wonderful…he can get driven backwards without the star on his helmet!

Two year deal? His market must have been as soft as Dalrymple after losing his phone.
I remember people were claiming Williams is super under-rated and will make more money in free agency then Michael Gallup.

Gallup then goes and signs for 4x the amount of money even coming off surgery...... (lol)

So he's not to blame for his poor play? I liked his attitude and work ethic but come on.
Can any player extend beyond his talent level?

He was a real project at OG in the NFL. The Big 12 gave birth to the spread because of the lack of quality OL and he was a good OT in the Big 12. But he had to gain strength and weight to keep from getting manhandled and not every OL is like Larry Allen. Allen had to come in against the Packers and Reggie White welcomed him with a rag doll that sent him to the weight room like a maniac and he became the strongest man in the NFL.

I will only blame a player for attitude, concentration and effort. And from what I saw he was not lacking in either of those. He just wasn't good enough to be the weak link in a good OL. I think he did all he was asked to do so I do not fault him.

I don't think he projected to being a Tackle in the NFL. Again, I admire his work ethic which seemed to be good, but the blame he receives for his play is spot on.... it comes with the territory. I'm glad he get a fresh chance in Miami but I'm not really sad to see him go either.

Agree, the weak link in a OL of 1st rounders and he was a project because of position change and had to play too early.

He was definitely on the ref watch list as that weak link and I think mentally that really wrecked his confidence. He did his best and never made excuses. I hope he does well in Miami.

I'm curious, does Dallas have a backup center? Or one that can challenge the guy they have.

Not a big loss, but Oline should be a priority in the draft, especially if we lose Collins too.I’m still not sold on TS either.Should be swing, not starting.

*THIS* Our OL is a mess! It seems like you and I are the only ones who notice it. I've been asking for us to draft Tyron's back up for the longest. Look at us now. We have to fill LG, C, RT and LT.

I’m not panicking yet.We still have Collins for now and see what they do in the draft and rest of free agency. But, I’m real close.

Excellent post. Personally, maybe it’s Walter Mitty syndrome, but I pull for players that grew up Cowboys fans in the local area. That said, he needed a change of scenery.

Oh, so that's why he gets so much love around here. I understand now. Bless his heart.

The interesting thing about his penalties:

2021 - 948 snaps - 15 penalties
2020 - 1146 snaps - 4 penalties

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he gets that cleaned up. Not like he has been this extreme with penalties his whole career. Oh well, if the Cowboys can improve at the position i'm all for letting him walk.
