Will he play for peanuts?
That seems to be our criteria

Unless you are already on the team. Then, we'll pay you market value and maybe even more than that.

Some fans mistake the Joneses' strategy for being cheap. The contracts they gave to players like Prescott, Elliott and Lawrence (among others) show that they are not cheap.

Their criteria for outside FAs seems to be value pricing. They think the only way to get value is to sign outside FAs to one- or two-year deals no higher than $6 million. There are still some good players going for that, but unfortunately, they also believe the first week feeding frenzy drives prices up, so they don't even shop until the top FAs are no longer on the market.

Campbell will likely be gone far before the Joneses dip their toes in the FA pool.

Agreed.
Unfortunately most of the difference makers go the first week.
Not sure the answer

There really isn't one, other than the Joneses eventually seeing that this strategy isn't working.

As I wrote in another thread, it might take players leaving when their first contract runs out and telling the Joneses it is because they are not committed to winning. If Parsons leaves, Lamb leaves, Diggs leaves, etc., they might finally get the message. Unfortunately, huge amounts of money being thrown at them usually is more important than going to a team that shows it values free agency. I mean, look at the fact that Dallas was going to match Denver's offer to Gregory. He would have stayed if he had not gotten upset over the clause in his contract. Cooper had said that he wanted to stay before things kind of soured when Dallas decided it wanted to deal him. Gallup could have walked away and gotten at least the same kind of deal elsewhere.

Probably the type of player we actually do sign and he's cut before Week 1

Too good. Cowboys can't look outside its own players unless they are nearly free

3-4 Beast.

4-3 not so sure

Dunno if injury could've been a part of it ... but with the Ravens, i saw more " Least " .....than i did "Beast' .....

It's a reason why they decide to move on without him.
