It does matter.

It's another example in a garden of examples showing how Jerry and Stephen just don't get it. An $18 million cap hit for not even an elite RB anymore is embarrassing and real roster management screw up. They then doubled down on that screw up by restructuring Elliott last year. They could be out from his contract this year if they hadn't made that mistake.

I know that hurts you to have to hear that.
What I think fans are missing here is Jerry's $140M investment in the Cowboys is worth $6.5B. That's a valuation of over 450X times his initial investment and doesn't include the big salaries his family have been pulling down for over 30 years.

For Jerry, winning is a symptom of success, so if it doesn't happen, there is still a great deal of fruit on the vine to enjoy.

Just another example of the many reasons why these clowns will have to get super lucky to win a super bowl in the distant future. That would be the Jones boys of course.

Zeke will be out of a lot of people's hair next year......then we'll really be rebuilding.

Think of how much more money we could have given Armstrong if not for that mess of a contract given to 21.

One of Jerry's biggest gaffes. How they went from "Our research shows you don't get the return on investment when you sign TBs to big or long term deals" with Murray to "We just made this guy the highest paid TB ever" with Elliott in just a few years was impressive.

1) Investment. Elliott cost the No. 4 overall pick. Unless that player sucks, which Elliott has not and definitely was not at the time of the signing, you give him a second contract.

2) Health. Murray was coming off a nearly 2,000-yard season, but he had had some troubling years healthwise. Investing in a player who hasn't consistently shown the ability to stay healthy is not wise.

3) They reportedly tried to give Murray a four-year deal worth more than any FA RB received the previous year. The Eagles offered more and Dallas said that's as high as we'll go.

I don’t mind valid criticism as I do it myself when needed. It is just all the other stupid Stuff fans post that goes along with it.
I don’t like the big contracts either, just as I don’t like Dak’s contract. I just choose not to waste any time or energy constantly whining about it.

I was a Dez fan, but perfectly understood when and why he was released. I did not whine about it.
If they move on from Zeke next year, then they move on. Nothing I can do about it, but if it saves a huge chunk of salary cap. Fine. Just as they did with Amari this year.

However if they make the move to save cap space, then make good use of that. So far they have not done so this year with what they have done. However FA is not over yet, so I will wait to see how it plays out.

and I do not like how much they paid Armstrong. It seems like a panic move as usual. But who knows, he may end up being a bargain as the light may come on or at least get a little brighter.
That’s a very sensible post. Bottom
Line: salary cap mistakes stick around for a long
Time.

Fans want Dallas to have cap money. Fans want Dallas to bring in some top talent. I guess fans don't like our guys. At least not like the FO does.

What exactly have "our guys" won?

The correct answer is NOTHING....................ergo, we need some new guys that actually know how to win, but unfortunately most of those guys are on other teams and our genius front office wont sign any of them.

This, it’s like they are afraid to try something different other than shop at the Goodwills, our guys approach has not worked for years but while teams are signing different players, we do the same each FA sign our guys again and again, like trying to plug that square peg in that round hold, how many times do we have to say it will not fit.
