But the problem with these people are, they call their sources

Aaron - Hey Todd, I heard Dallas has a need and Smith fits.

Archer - Yeah, he’s an amazing player. Who wouldn’t want him for the right price?

“DALLAS WANTS SMITH!!!!”
That’s true lol good point

Sounds like Smith's agent is trying to drum up interest in his client. Or, Jerry is trying to convince fans by leaking a rumor the Cowboys are making a strong push to sign him when in fact they will do no such thing. I will believe the Cowboys have interest whenthey make a serious offer to sign him.

Smith is a dawg and would immediately upgrade our defense from last season. Remember when he destroyed us with the Packers three seasons ago? He makes Gregory look soft.
To be dominant your D needs a few Dogs!

Smith is a dog, Gregory was an inconsistent pup who made stupid mistakes!!!!!!

If we sign him for the same as the Ravens, he will be a steal, compared to the other top DE’s.

please sign Smith!

I'm not mad at a rotation of Smith, Armstrong, Fowler, Lawrence, Gholston. Always prefer blue chips but that's a deep edge that can do work and allow Parsons to roam around (which I think is his best bet).

Still need to find blue chip in the future, and I still am not a fan of the interior line.
Exactly. Lawrence and Gholston can move to inside on passing downs. We could go full 3/4 as Smith plays mostly outside linebacker. The signing would be a big upgrade over last years pass rushers.

Gregory was probably the most overrated player the Cowboys had in recent history. I believe Parsons made Gregory millions.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, but either way, the offense looking like a shell of itself after week 6 last year was what ultimately lead to the down fall and we've done nothing at all to improve there, but we have gotten significantly weaker.

Game changer for our D if Smith is healthy!!!

This is the type signing that takes us to the next level on D.
We should be building a DOMINANT D and a smart ball control offense, with Dak driving the bus AND running to convert 3rd downs, when he needs too!!!!!

We will be good on O, if we improve at C and LG and Moore learns from his mistakes from last year. For example design plays to beat zone D when playing a zone team( Whiners ).

When was the last time Dallas signed a free agent that reports said they were interested in? I can't think of a time ever. Where were the reports they were interested in Washington or Fowler? If Dallas signs any outside free agents it is generally a surprise.

This same BS is pulled every single offseason and has been with multiple players already this offseason. If there are reports like this it means that it is not happening.

Not really.....dude had back surgery....missed most of last year.
But, was the best player on D for Green Bay when he did play vs the Whiners in the playoffs.

He played big in a big game. Did soft mistake prone Gregory do that?

Zadarius and Dante Fowler with the re-structure of Tank and re-sign of Armstrong is a nice consolation price for losing Gregory. I'll take it!

Just wish we could have added someone in the middle. Fletcher Cox would have been nice. Going back to Gerald McCoy, we haven't had much luck striking gold there, but seem to find a nice DE every few years.
He’s not signed yet!
Can we get him signed, then talk about how he helps the D, and who else you wanted.

I believe our defensive will be ranked higher than our offense next season.

I believe our offense will be some where between 12-15 ranked while the defense will be top 10ish.

One thing is clear based on their free agency
Approach. They are beyond confused and delusional about their offensive line that is in complete shambles. They must read PFF rankings and think their great.

what they see
LT= Hall of Famer
RG we’ll have Conner McGovern or a rookie, should be fine
C 3rd year with their Wisconsin Center which only produces stud Centers
RG= Hall of Famer
RT- developing star with Steele!

real world
LT- shell of a former star who is usually hurt and plays at an average level when he is actually able to play
LG they have nobody
C a backup level talent forced to be a starter by a team praying he wakes up one day and becomes Travis Frederick
RG HOFer who is still great but can’t play forever
RT a guy that improved enough from the previous year that Might be a solid swing tackle, but is forced into a starting spot.
New LT and C and we will be an above average line when Tyron is healthy. Need a good backup swing tackle for when Tyron is out.

I think we can find these players in the draft or Free Agency.

Will be VERY hard to find a DE like Ladarius Smith early in the draft or in Free Agency!!
We need to make this deal happen. I would take the deal he had with the Raven’s in a heartbeat. He probably wants more money after seeing what Gregory and Miller signed for though.

If we get Smith and he is healthy for a playoff run and a couple more pieces( Kearse ), this D could be DOMINANT!!
