Some smoke right now around these 3 in Dallas.

I know the Wagner talk has been mostly fake Twitter posts - but there has been some chatter recently with and having Quinn as your DC - surely helps that cause.

So let's say Jerry send his son away for a couple days and makes these moves. How would that change your outlook on the team for the next couple years OR are these guys gonna be past their prime, expensive FAs?

Personally, if Dallas could pull this off and sign all 3 - that allows you to go heavy in the draft on the offensive side of the ball - hopefully shoring up your Oline, TE and WR spots.

I do hesitate on Smith and his back, but HB and Wagner would be homeruns to me on a defense looking to take the next steps.

Jerry wouldn't need to send his son away. This is Jerry's team. All he has to say is do it.

If Dallas pulls off all three, they have a top 5 unit in the NFL. This applies for ANY team. 0% this happens to us let alone ANY team in the league. That is like saying, man if we signed Terron Armstead and JC Tretter, we could focus elsewhere in the draft!

Smith - likely won't sign. He has no ties to Dallas and wants to go to the highest bidder.

Mathieu - likely won't sign. Another one, who has let it be known. HE IS GOING WHERE THE MONEY IS.

Wagner - likely won't sign. If the situation and money were right, he likely would've signed with the Rams or Chargers by now. They have spent a ton of $$$. He will end up somewhere nobody predicted like Philly

Would love it, I just dont see us having any history of making this happen.
Jerry just does not have the cachet to do this anymore, actually I don't think he ever did. It was just the Cowboy history but every young player has no connection with a history of a winning organization anymore.

There really isn't much smoke at all. Not from real sources.
It's the same old "throw stuff against the wall, if it sticks then I look legitimate" strategy influencer wannabe social media accounts have used many times (ex: several were claiming Elliott won his court case against the NFL right up until he didn't).

Once fake rumors (aka: wild guesses) are posted enough, people say things like, "I know it's fake, but I've heard this elsewhere so there must be some truth to it" which of course brings more people into believing it.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on all of them. Agents throw out Cowboys interest to drum up their client's market. We just saw the team resign Armstrong/Fowler, Lve and Hooker. Now they are going to add additional pieces to those areas, highly doubt it! I'm expecting a decision on Kearse soon and a few OL signings soon.

Where's the smoke?
I guess "lots of" wasn't quite the correct words there :)

Wagner has been reported various times with Dallas mentioned.
Honey Badger, new reports showing Dallas as 1 of two teams (Colts) and he just started following Dallas on Twitter
Smith - the reports are out now that Dallas is making a push

Who knows, as media outlets always use Dallas to get clicks, but it is what it is.

I wouldn't mind having these guys, but I still don't get why we're doing nothing the address the offensive side of the ball. The offense was what feel apart after week 6 and lead to the downfall of the season.

James Washington is not an upgrade of Cooper or Wilson and Steele is not an upgrade of Collins. We're clearly much weaker on offense as it stands right now.

Are we trying to Trent Dilfer our QB1 to a Super Bowl run?

Whole lotta nothing, none of those would be a cheap signing for Stephen to be happy with.

You need to look at the Cowboys roster and their contract expire dates. If you sign these 3, are you OK letting Diggs walk in 2 years because you now are paying these 3 guys and they will all be 2 years older than they already are

And it always results in CZers linking these wild guesses, rumors, "reports" to this site....over and over again.

Will you be okay with Diggs if he has the same exact stats next season but only 3 INTS?

I'll see if Diggs improves in his yardage given up and run defense before I sign him to a big contract.

The mathieu rumor picked up within the last 12 hours. Supposedly he also followed dallas on Twitter. I haven’t looked into it

Remember when Julio Jones was "spotted" wearing a Dallas sweatshirt when he was a free agent? I think their agents instruct them to do this to drum up publicity to make it look like they're in more demand than they actually are. I said this about Julio back then too. Dallas gets the most hits in the media so you go where the action is even if you're faking.

Their plan appears to fill holes in fa for the defense and priority to fix the offense via the draft. Washington is just a bridge if they are unable to draft a high receiver or if the prospect isn't ready to contribute.
