I say we don’t get one of these guys let alone all 3 lol
Some smoke right now around these 3 in Dallas.
I know the Wagner talk has been mostly fake Twitter posts - but there has been some chatter recently with and having Quinn as your DC - surely helps that cause.
So let's say Jerry send his son away for a couple days and makes these moves. How would that change your outlook on the team for the next couple years OR are these guys gonna be past their prime, expensive FAs?
Personally, if Dallas could pull this off and sign all 3 - that allows you to go heavy in the draft on the offensive side of the ball - hopefully shoring up your Oline, TE and WR spots.
I do hesitate on Smith and his back, but HB and Wagner would be homeruns to me on a defense looking to take the next steps.
I think it is pretty clear that the plan is not to improve the roster via free agency. Its just not what we do. The Jones way is draft, re-sign, and pray a lot.
It's the same old "throw stuff against the wall, if it sticks then I look legitimate" strategy influencer wannabe social media accounts have used many times (ex: several were claiming Elliott won his court case against the NFL right up until he didn't).
Once fake rumors (aka: wild guesses) are posted enough, people say things like, "I know it's fake, but I've heard this elsewhere so there must be some truth to it" which of course brings more people into believing it.
When will we realize the salary cap is not a concern, it goes up every year like inflation.. . Don't want to orange pill any of you here. You need to look at the Cowboys roster and their contract expire dates. If you sign these 3, are you OK letting Diggs walk in 2 years because you now are paying these 3 guys and they will all be 2 years older than they already are
Nothing wrong with hoping

Agreed - Wagner would be idealSince we are dreaming here: If we were going to sign just one of these three players, which one would you want?
For me, it would be Wagner. He's healthy and still playing at a high level and would allow us to make Parsons practically a full-time pass rusher. That would eliminate the need for Smith. Then, on the back end, I can live with Hooker at free safety if it came down to getting either Wagner or Mathieu.

Smith - If healthy, would be a big upgrade over Gregory. A true disruptor at DE - However, I'm scared of his back issues.
Mathieu - while he is a play maker, he doesn't have the size that DQ likes at the S position - so not sure how that plays out.
I think Quinn gets that rep because LOB were huge but I don’t think he’s turning down talent in size…..I'm not sure that size matters as much to Quinn at free safety. He had Earl Thomas while in Seattle and brought in Kazee last year. Both of them are under 6 foot. I think he likes having taller strong safeties so that he can move them around more like a chess piece.
Where's the smoke?
Most of the “interest” is just click baitPlease don’t hold your breath.
Good oneGregory took a lot of it to Denver
My biggest surprise is why wouldn't Jerry make that push. He'll be 80 in Oct. Each day he gets closer to that dirt nap. Who cares where the Cowboys will be 5 years from now with the cap...he may not even be here.Signing these three would catapult this team. We would instantly have a better defense, full of leaders and top talent, young and old.
We can sign these three guys and go all offense in the draft.
Why wouldn't you make a push right now? I think we have a couple more years of this contract with Dak, with two all pros on rookie deals, a laughably bad division and conference... It's just right in front of us
I wouldn't get your hopes up on all of them. Agents throw out Cowboys interest to drum up their client's market. We just saw the team resign Armstrong/Fowler, Lve and Hooker. Now they are going to add additional pieces to those areas, highly doubt it! I'm expecting a decision on Kearse soon and a few OL signings soon.
