I agree with you. I just don't like the Winston results. Yeah, he definitely takes more chances. So we could have won. Or we could have lost due to his 12 picks.

Remember Romo and some of the bad passes that used to infuriate the fanbase? And I'm a Romo fan. Winston is like Romo after drinking a bottle of cognac!

Dak's "results" are so very much more impressive~!

What a ridiculous post! The Cowboys scored more points than anyone in 2021 and you’re saying we don’t score points? Lol You honestly think a mistake prone QB who’s a INT machine is gives the Cowboys a better chance? Lol Practically the same Bucs team that missed the playoffs in 2019 under Winston won the Super Bowl the following year with Brady. Tampa got rid of Winston because he was the problem. By the way Jameis Winston is 0-1 in the playoffs. You’re absolutely kidding yourself if you think we would’ve beat the 49ers with him.
What is Dak's record in the playoffs?

Well by god super bowl here we come!

So you’re blaming it all on him? I guess it was all Romo’s fault that he was only 2-4 in the playoffs not counting two season finale elimination game losses? The Cowboys wouldn’t even have a playoff record if it wasn’t for their QBs the past two decades. If some like you ran the team we would be juggling QBs every year. trying to find one.

Dak vs Winston is anti Dak. Jameis Winston has been a turnover machine. His career QB record is 11 games below 500. The Bucs missed the playoffs with him in 2019 and won the Super Bowl the following year with a 43 year old Tom Brady.
Maybe you are over estimating Dak???

I’m not anti Dak. I’ve actually been more supportive of him than many. So let’s get that out there first.

I’m not a Jameis Winston fan, but I see that he just signed for two years $28m. ($14 per year)

We are paying Dak roughly three times what Winston makes. If both were equally paid, I would choose Dak over Winston; however, it would not be surprised at all if Winston outperforms Dak over the next two years at about 1/3 of the cost.

You can’t win in this league without a franchise QB, and you would think that there are not many acceptable substitutes for Dak. But Matt Ryan was traded for a third round pick. Wentz is probably also in the “Dak ballpark”

Dak
Wentz
Ryan
Winston

All are “retreads” other than Dak. Would anyone be surprised if any of all of these guys outperformed Dak next year.

This is just food for thought on a rainy day in Oklahoma.

Good lord! Have you seen the Winston work out videos? Awful. The dude is Eli Manning, picks, picks and more picks!

Winston has terrific arm talent but is a weirdo.

Dak is a cool cat with limited arm talent.

Neither can read a defense to save his life.

Toss up.
That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout!

The OP clearly was not saying Winston is better than Dak.
Maybe some here should re-read his post.

On a side note, to his credit, we did get a glimpse last year of Winston with fewer turnovers. The results were good before his injury.
15 TDs and 4 turnovers was a great start.
But it'd take at least a full season (and probably 2) of that for me to believe he's overcome his careless ways.
It is refreshing to see a poster with reading comprehension skills. Props to you.

Dak And Winston are not close to each other.....Dak is right outside of the top 5 Winston is between 12-18

At the beginning of the year I would agree that Dak is borderline top 5. After last year he looked more like 20-25ish. Not a good year for Dak. Especially down the stretch.

One thing about Jameis - he is not hesitant about throwing it deep downfield.
(His decision-making about when to do has been highly questionable however throughout his career.)

Comparing Dak to Winston is basically deciding between 2 QBs that struggle to read defenses with 1 taking chances and the other checking down a lot. Either way your team isn't going to go far.

I feel the OP question about who will outperform who between the 4 QBs listed: Dak, Wentz, Ryan or Winston. Depends what you're looking for. Dak will undoubtedly put up the best numbers, by far. The defense will allow Dak to check down all day then when we get to the redzone the field shrinks and then who knows. So Dak is a stats machine cuz the defense rarely gets beat deep. Dak will put stats up. It's highly debatable if that translates to winning. In the NFC east, yes that will win, outside the east not so much. So I feel Dak will outperform those 4 by a long shot.

If I had to choose a QB to enter the playoffs with, then my choice is Ryan. Ryan and there's not a close 2nd. JMO on the OP question.

Evidently you must not of watched the 49ers playoff game. Dak was horrible!!!
Just the fact that Winston is a better pure passer that alone would of given the Cowboys a better chance or should we say it couldnt of been any worse. Not saying Winston is great put he would of given the Cowboys a punchers chance to knockout the 49ers. Dak doesnt have a knockout punch.
