Free agent outside linebacker Za’Darious Smith appears to be enjoying his time visiting the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

The two-time Pro Bowler is capturing his visit in an Instagram story, which shows off a personal welcoming committee from the Vikings, along with his picture and name on the scoreboard at TCO Stadium in Eagan.

It’s no surprise the Vikings are pulling out all of the stops considering Smith received back-to-back Pro Bowl invites before his back injury put an end to his 2021 campaign.

When’s the last time we had a visit like this? Carr?

I still don't believe he leaves Minnesota. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

I have the same feeling. The Bills set the market for Smith so all the Vikings have to do is offer a bit more while giving him the royal treatment and it's probably a done deal.

Well if they don't sign a DE in free agency my thinking is #24 OL and 2nd Round DL

My thinking is with Cooper and Wilson gone and Gallup recovering, a WR at #24 gives the Cowboys an answer there for the next five years and hopefully beyond. They can go OL in the 2nd round assuming they are happy when their current group of DE's.

WR is a deep group this year - they can get a possible starter in mid rounds.
I would go OL/DL/LB in 1st, depending on who falls.

Geez I hope he ain't expecting that to be his market. He's a good player, but he fails to compare to Von.

I meant to say the Ravens. My bad. The Cowboys are losing players to so many other teams I am starting to mix them up. :muttley:

Oh lol, yes that makes more sense. Let's hope they don't top it by much, and at least we get a damn visit.

I mean the actual Von Miller deal is not that impressive and it did set the market. Just because ZDS is not going to beat that does not mean it did not determine the market values for edge rushers. I would expect them to sign him for 4 years 60-65m which is basically the reason the deal he had with Baltimore fell through (as it basically doubles it).

I'm wondering if the Ravens failing to secure Smith had something to do with his injury. Teams do try to write in clauses that protect them. Maybe Smith saw what Gregory did to the Cowboys and his agent convinced him that backing out of the agreement could get him more guaranteed money elsewhere.

Apologies if this was already discussed, I admit I did not read all 15 pages of the thread.

I believe OL is a better choice at #24 you can get WR later its deeper. My feeling at #24 there should be 3 or so there like Lindenbaum OC or Kenyon Green OG and etc.

I would be happy with either one of those guys. Lindenbaum would be the starting center. Green would be the starting LG and the Cowboys could then see if Matt Farniok can push Tyler Biadasz at center. And Connor McGovern can be the backup which I think he's best suited for.

I can't believe that people thought that there was an actual chance of this happening.
