Erin Andrews is another sportscaster who I think gets unfair criticism. Over on FB, people were mocking her over crying. She's going to miss them and so she cried. I don't see any big deal. I don't think she deserves to be looked down on for having a human reaction to missing people. I also think she does a good job as a sideline reporter. I don't get why some people hate her so much. I would be happy to meet her and talk about sports. Where the hate for her comes from -- I haven't a clue. Erin's cool.

A better question is, what do sideline female reporters at to football?

Other than Michelle Tafoya...nothing.

Wow. She said she was closer to them than her husband? Aikman, you dog! At one time, she was the hottest sideline reporter in sports.

Remember the USC linebacker (Ray something) ended playing for the bengals doing his dance behind her?

Fill a quota.

Same reason why the NFLN now looks like QVC.

To the OP, I'd say there's enough feelings and emotions in society today and I would have probably laughed at her for something so ridiculous.

"They are at times closer than family or husband" wth kinda thing is that say. That's a little weird tbh

I can relate to that’s sentiment, it’s just worded poorly. If you work 8 hours a day (or more in a broadcaster’s life), there’s women you’re spending many more waking hours with than your significant other.

I've worked 8 hour plus days with women and never once did I ever feel closer to them than any of my family or ex's at the time.

I wonder if Troy and Joe cried over not working with her.

This all started when CBS put Phyllis George on the pregame and increased the ratings.

I would rather look at a pretty face than some sports dude. CBS can change those 5 boring men out for ladies and I am fine with that.

Where they crossed the line was putting Beth Mowins in at play by play. She is painful to listen to even though she does know her stuff.

Agreed. I never get mad about a pretty face. Show me a male who is going to provide earth-shattering sideline commentary. Either make it a funny screwball like Tony Siragusa or a hottie like Erin Andrews.

And if I want something different, I'll go watch the Manning Brothers goof off. That's really the only innovation I've seen in broadcasting since Madden took over.
