Trying to be realistic:

DT - Eddie Goldman - (28) vet minimum- was great early on in his career but didn’t play in 2020 because of COVID and wasn’t the same player last year. Great run defender if healthy and in shape.

OT/OG - Ereck Flowers - (28) 2 year $8 million - was an average guard last year but also has experience playing tackle - offers position flexibility in class of injuries.

WR - Malik Turner - (26) resign vet minimum - competition for 3/4 spot until Gallup is healthy

It's pretty clear to me that anyone that's added from here is going to be of the 1 year/2 million variety.

So....whoever will play for that.

Doubt they will be named Tretter or Wagner.

I think Flowers is in the Honey Badger, Landry spectrum. Refusing to take less, holding out for more.

I'm not saying we need to address all these spots but we should pick something before the draft to address and I feel the offensive line should be it.
Unless we draft somebody in the first round we have proven its next to impossible for us to develop an offensive lineman.

Give me JC Tretter and let's say Eric Fisher.

Or let's go d line give me Campbell or Hicks

Or let's swing for the fences and get Bobby Wagner.

Grab Jarvis Landry for insurance till Gallup heals up.

The point is do something so you're not completely depending on the draft to fill every hole

A few I wouldn’t mind

WR Will Fuller : like Washington, one year deal. Gives us another deep threat and doesn’t rush Gallup back week one.

LB Anthony Barr : another guy I can get 1-2 years out of. Played OLB in the 4-3, familiar with George Edwards. Gives more flex with Vander Esch, Cox and let’s 11 do what 11 does best.

I agree we should go into the draft with no immediate needs. That way we aren't tied down and don't have to force a pick.

Whomever they sign will most likely be one year or two year deals and be only filler guys. I am sure fans would love Bobby Wagner and Clowney but we should all know by now, it is going to happen. The money we get after June 1st for letting Collins go will be to sign rookies.

Hard to commit to the 3 year deal anyone good wants b/c the QB is set to count 49M against the cap next year and 52M the year after. The cap space is only for this season. So, who wants a one year deal?

Fuller would be an interesting signing. He'd have to be cheap because he hasn't finished a full NFL season in like forever.

BUT, if you got lucky and got 14 or so games out of him and was available in the playoffs, you have got yourself a legit playmaker on the outside.

The Fuller situation in Miami was odd to say the least. Think he was the player rumored about possible retirement.
Got 10mil for what, one game?

Give me Tretter and Ereck Flowers and I’ll feel that my offensive line is fixed for 2022. Then I can go into the draft and potentially draft future replacements if the opportunity presents itself rather than being forced to.

I think you can get both signed for a maximum total cost of $10- $12 million in cap hit this year.

They are going to roll over like $20 million in cap space, aren't they?
