Am I alone here? While I was in favor of letting Cooper go, I was not in favor of paying 11M for a Tweener TE while Buffalo signed OJ Howard for 3M....letting our best route runner left on the team walk off to Miami for a salary that was very workable....resigning Noah Brown for a SIXTH season of sucking...but, but, but, he can block....sorry, I forgot. I'm guessing Turner didn't have the goods on Booger like Brown does. Wasting money on James Washington, when you could have signed Allen Robinson. Sorry, but Cee Dee is a #2 at best, and Gallup is a #2 on a great day....both CANNOT be depended on to show up every week...Schultz cannot be depended on to do anything but pick up 7-8 yards in soft zones, and provide Duk Pratfall some security when panicked. These receivers are going to really expose Duk, and make us long for the days of Tony...a 3-5 road record looks like a pipe dream....9-8 overall. The sad thing, is that it didn't have to be like this....Deez Nutz to both Booger and Chuckles....when is someone in the media going to seriously challenge them face to face about the last 26 years? What gutless media we have!!!

I get the feeling that you're not entirely optimistic about the 2022 season.

Well Schultz has little to do with WR other than the fact he was far and above the best receiving TE in FA
And by the way he avg over 10 yards per catch not 7-8
Cooper at WR avg 2 more yards per catch
So not sure about your evaluation

I agree with the big picture. At the top, we signed second rate players to overpriced contracts, and one of them won't even show for the first 6 games or so, while cutting our best WR who wasn't due another penny in guaranteed money. No speed at all in our top WRs, and our big WR pick last year was told to bulk up because he *might* have a future as a receiving TE, but sure wouldn't as a WR.

But at the bottom, totally disagree. Noah was a great deal for us. Core special teamer, competent NFL veteran WR, and can block, all for vet minimum. I'll take the Washington pick too. 5 TDs one season. Another basically competent NFL veteran for veteran minimum. What's not to like? If nothing else, these guys are next to free roster insurance. Don't get all wound up thinking that we're counting on either of them as our #3. Whatever we do with them, they are great value signings.

I guess you have not heard....Cee Dee is our PROVEN #1!!!!!!!! And I'm sure he will flourish even more while Gallup is recovering from ACL surgery. We are good in that department. Didn't you see Dak before we traded for Amari? 2nd coming of Peyton Manning. I think we traded for Amari after we lost to the Titans on MNF. But hey....we got Dak....he can turn water into wine. He has proven that many times over.

Schultz is totally replaceable.

Was Schultz getting doubled? Cause Cooper was.

Receiver numbers always have to be normalized by their rank as offensive targets and the resulting attention they got from defenses. Guarantee every team was more worried about Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup when they were on the field. Probably Pollard too. Schultz is maybe the 3rd or 4th threat, and he may not give as much as a blocker as Brown.

Meh. What a waste of an 8 figure salary.

A one year salary
If you think receiver is a dumpster fire then you should be glad we kept Schultz for another year till you can put that fire out
I can’t imagine an offense with Lamb, Washington and turner at WR and McKeon and sprinkle at TE
Not many teams feared gallup in the 8 games he didn’t play
When they decided to move on from cooper it was imperative to keep Schultz for next year and he costs nothing beyond that
OJ Howard? He has less catches in the last 3 years combined than Schultz had last year alone

Don't worry, this FO can always overpay for a WR in a trade mid season

Amari Cooper didn't want to take a paycut. He left the Cowboys no option but to try to trade him before cutting his overpaid contract and losing him with no compensation in return.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Amari for choosing money over the team.

I’d have no problem drafting a WR at 24 if he was the best player but I don’t want to pass up a much better prospect to draft a position
That rarely works out
We have lots of needs including WR but reaching is not the answer
