Kurt Cousins should have taught the league that overpaying for middle of the road talent is a bad bad idea.

Dak is a Super Bowl-caliber QB, the money is more than worth it. However, in six (more like 5 being he got hurt) seasons as a starter, made three playoff appearances & won one playoff game.

That’s not all on him, but if he can’t put the team on his back when it matters most, he shouldn’t be paid like the QBs who can. And this is coming from a fan who likes the kid!

How embarassing that someone thinks that breaking all kinds of Cowboy's passing records and finishing top 5 in multiple passing categories does not equate to "elite passer"

Some mythical measurements must exist that I am not aware of to attain this label.

Cooper Rush 325 yards. Sometimes the numbers don't tell the whole story.

What are the results of this 6 year evaluation.

Don't ask that question. You'll just get a summation of statistics over the last 6 years. Instead, ask for a highlight reel of his heroics under pressure in big games in clutch situations. That will only take up about 30 seconds of your time.

Dak hasn't shown that he's reached the next level in his QB progression. Early on, his mobility was a big asset to compensate for his lack/limitations of passing ability.
Now, he doesn't display that same zeal to use his running ability, mainly due to his hesitation from injuries and his seeming want to prove that he is a legitimate passer.
He is still a quality QB but he has yet to show he is a Force Multiplier as a QB. FM's elevate their team and overcome player limitations. He hasn't shown that ability and now we are stuck paying him as a top QB and we may not see him reach that FM level. I think the struggles by his Oline have taken a toll and he doesn't seem as confident and that affects his accuracy.
He seems to gain a lot of his stats during garbage time after the team has fallen behind by double digits. He teases a comeback but seems to come up short more times than not.
I’d say his first 7 games of the season was the best stretch of his career so far. He was playing flawlessly. Idk what happened after the New England game but if we can get 1st half of 2021 season Dak we will be just fine.

The thing that really blows my mind with Dak is that he looks so lethal passing some games. The first quarter of this season he was throwing darts. Even though some of the games were against mediocre teams you could just tell he was feeling it. Then, he never got it back and looked like a deer in headlights the second half of the year. Even when he put up big numbers against the east teams later in the season he still didn't look like he was as sharp as he was the first quarter of the year. It's really hard to know if someone has peaked, when it comes to QB if you see a QB throw darts with pin-point accuracy for a few games then you would think they have it in them to improve to doing that consistently. But Dak hasn't, and he seemed to be in his own head at the end of the year which scares me more than physical issues. I think, after all we've seen from Dak, the next 2 years will be extremely telling. If he continues to flounder and be inconsistent then yes, he's peaked. But it took Romo from 2006-2013 until he really started playing consistently and you could tell he was in full command of the offense, though I don't think he ever had the talent around him consistently that Dak has, nor was he as hot/cold as Dak can be. Maybe that's revisionist history on my part because Romo could be a roller coaster too, but Dak just seems more inconsistent and you never know which Dak will show up.
Exactly, he was putting on a masterclass first 7 games of season then injury+bye+missed start = lost whatever he was feeling

The first 7 games is what people would call an "anomaly". It happens sometimes. How many times has Ryan Fitzpatrick has a 3 or 4 game stretch where he looks like the best QB in the NFL? It just happens.

You say you don't know what happen after the New England game? What happened was Dak just went back to being Dak. The carriage turned back into the pumpkin. We've seen him for 6 years and if nothing else he has shown that he cannot play consistently well when he is asked to be "the guy".

Do you not see how silly this point is?
