9 days until this thread is no longer relevant to even the most optimistic of fans.

yea right

what stephen said is the problem because it is not true

u want to use free agency to adress need so u can really go bpa in the draft (just in general! it is the right stratigy)

all cowboys did during free agency is create multiple hole in the roster that is a FACT look at talent in and talent out it is not even close!

Why does anyone even invite this imbecile onto talk shows? They'd garner better content talking to an office stapler.
Anything Stephen says is purely lip service and a feigned attempt to sell the fanbase some undue hope.

I can't even stomach listening and watching the 2 of them any more. Reading the twitter updates will suffice for now.

This is from the same jar of canned responses as "You can't fire me, I quit!"

I seriously think by just signed Trai Turner, you can go BPA every single round.

No matter who they draft or sigh It will be ripped to shreds by our expert realists

Quite possibly so but if that happens, it'll more than likely be well deserved. In the last few drafts some great picks were made, along with some lame ones, as well. For once, Stephen needs to give some credence to what he's claiming. Otherwise, he'll get ripped from a-hole to elbow (not that it will affect his employment status, however.) Let's hope he'll honor his word for once and follow through with some worthwhile veteran FA moves. He's well overdue. These "Stephenesque" claims that don't materialize need to stop, if he wants to salvage what's left of his waning reputation.

I'm fine with their philosophy here. Sign backups in VFA and draft for starters. Raise the floor in FA. Raise the ceiling in the draft.

I'd like to see better risk assessment and a change to the Orwellian circus environment they've created.

This plan was obvious weeks ago. Jerry and Stephen don't want to lose those comp picks. The Monday after the draft they can start signing free agents and it doesn't affect the comp picks they have accumulated from the free agents lost. Projections have them currently getting a 4th for Randy Gregory, 6th for Cedric Wilson., and a 6th for Connor Williams in the 2023 draft. Start signing people after the draft and they don't risk losing those comp picks.
good point , and it is smart to wait, since they already passed on all the better FA's.

Cowboys or jones boys, want to try and fill holes in the draft, it is cheaper,(stevy likes that!!) and since jones boys have never made good picks in FA, they have
soured on it. Especially the expensive FA's.

Where they jones boys screw up, is they should have tried to trade lael, wilson, and cooper last season, they might have got some good picks in THIS DRAFT, instead
of just some low comp picks. You have to make those moves early, and the jones boys just dont seem to get that, so never get anything for players they could have
traded for value picks, because they wait till last minute, plus then they tell everyone they will cut the player.

I think Jimmy would have traded those guys last year, and made do with what he had for some good picks this year.
That is why he was a winner.

We all thought we had a chance to go deep last season. This board would have lost it if they'd traded those players then.

Yeah they are going to sign free agents after the draft is done, duh. Then maybe a 4th string practice squad vet like a Rashard Robinson type,
