No, but you do start the process that leads to winning the Super Bowl in the off season. I'm all for not gong nuts in free agency, but occasionally there should be a key player that is worth investing in.

Stephen is ALMOST saying the same thing as another dofus owners son in another sport said a few days ago.

Here's what Cincinnati Reds president and CEO (the owners son) had to say:

Phil Castellini's response to #SellTheTeamBob?

"Well, where are you going to go?" he told Scott Sloan and Mo Egger on 700-WLW when asked why fans should remain loyal. "Sell the team to who? That's the other thing: You want to have this debate? .... What would you do with this team to have it more profitable, make more money, compete more in the current economic system that this game exist? It would be to pick it up and move it somewhere else.

"Be careful what you ask for."

Go ahead, Stephen. Say it. You know you want too.

I find it odd that Stephen Jones thinks he knows anything about winning a SB. He could have just said, “You don’t win Super Bowls the way we do things.”

He was like 32 the last time we won a SB. He was probably just a Gopher for his Daddy at that time…..

His time as an “Executive VP” started in ‘96…right after our last SB win. Also about the time Rowdy hit the scene. Hmm….

I still think Rowdy is Jerry Jr. You never see him in the booth during games! You see Jerry, Stephen, Spaulding, and sometimes former Governor Chris Christie, but never Jerry Jr! Lol

What a total Dip S...did you ever think in a million years that we would be even more doomed when Booger kicks the bucket??? He reminds me of Charlies Chan's stupid son in Murder By Death.
I remember when I used to believe the team will be better off when Jerry is no longer in charge.

I now find myself hoping that Jerry is always in charge and Stephen never takes over.

He's 100% worse than Jerry at this.
Isn't this interview on 105.3 the Fan what Jerry normally does every week?
Like Father like Son. Stephen getting that Jerryspeak down pretty good.... o_O
Isn't this radio interview normally with Jerry every week?

Stephen gradually, steadily assuming all duties and roles controlling the franchise.

Lip service

In reading his exact comments, the thing I find particularly annoying (and idiotic) is that he only talks about last year. Like the previous 25 to last year never happened. Sadly I have witnessed this teams last Lombardi, between him and the dimwit entitled Jones family coming up behind him there is no hope.

Answer: No. Both Stephen AND Jerry have had weekly radio shows for years. Name another NFL franchise that rolls out two of their front office execs each week, often contradicting their HC. Been doing it for several years. And No, Jerry is FULLY in control. At least that’s what he says in public.

1. It has always been a tried and true axiom that you begin your march to the SuperBowl one minute after you are knocked out of contention. Whether that is in game 4 or game 12 or the playoffs. Unless your intention is not to play for the SuperBowl at all. Then I have no words for this.

2. Opening your pie hole is one of the most dangerous things anyone can do. Your mouth often tends to betray your brain and reveals the level of tone deafness and imbecility of your thoughts. We all can do better with silence.

This offseason has been one of the most difficult for me to digest. I cannot see the direction of the team. I know I don't have to know all of the details, but I do expect the ownership to give slivers of hope.

This year it feels as if someone has intentionally turned out the light at the end of the tunnel, and we are all wandering in the dark.

Dude who can't put together a team that can win 2 playoff games in the same season, despite over a quarter century of trying, talking about winning a Super Bowl.

Shut up, Stephen.

Or in the regular season with this FO.....

The offseason is used to make your team better and compete for a SB, because each football team you field is gonna be different, you have to improve.....standing pat wont win you squat, as evidenced by the last 26 years.

That's crazy. It seems to be what I've watched the Rams Chiefs and Bucs do. They make major franchise changing moves...in the off-season

Actually, ding dong, the offseason is where you actually win a SB. It's called roster building. It's called using all the tools - draft, FA, etc. - to build the most rounded team you can.

And how can he say with a straight face they can go into the draft "pure" and just take BPA? They have no starting LG. Literally, they don't have a starting LG. They also don't have a legitimate DE.

But yeah, this roster is stacked and we can just draft for luxury.

We are screwed when this guy takes over full time. He's dumber and more stubborn than his dad.
