One of the greatest undrafted players ever.

Happy 42nd birthday to @tonyromo! https://t.co/oW6OD5FjPH

Look at all that playmaking and not waiting for other players to save him

Moon would have been drafted but thought it would be in the late rounds so took a relatively lucrative gig (for 1978) in the USFL 1-2 months before the draft.
Huge success there, obviously.
Saw he crushed it in the Canadian league for 6 years.
His team won the championship 5 of his years there

The word great and Tony Romo should never go in the same sentence. He was far better than Dak but never great.

The same number as Dan Marino. You sound silly.

Team sport.

Or Dan Fouts, Steve Deberg, Fran Tarkenton, Warren Moon, Ken Anderson, Jim Kelly, Dave Krieg and Sonny Jurgensen.

Lots of great QBs have never gotten to the promised land. Why do we beat the hell up out of our own QBs.

It's like Romo performed a personal hate crime on many of our fans.

Wish he would have played like that in the do or die games. He and Dez had no trouble hooking up for a TD in the regular season against the Packers. None of those highlights were in the playoffs.

That's the scar on his legacy he may never overcome. I remember working with a true born Steeler fan........he had zero respect for Romo. You call him a big stat player who chokes in crunch time. The game I'll never forget is losing the do-or-die game against Commanders during RG3 rookie season.

Leadership was always one of the criticisms with him. Couldn’t seem to rally the troops when it mattered but he had playmaking ability.

Yeah but this team hasn't had leadership since the 90's. We don't get it from the coaches and we haven't got it from the players for the most part. Who gets mad when we start losing, besides some fans?

I remember Romo saying the QB doesn't have to be the leader in one of his earlier interviews. He eventually came around & realized the QB has to be in charge, but I don't think he wanted to be the boss.

Romo not great. Very good, made the team watchable, but not great.

No one can make filet mignon out of bologna.....he had no OL....not like the #1 OL Dallas had several years ago and was wasted away.

Yes but his story is quite different. Moon went to CFL first and won 5 championships before signing with the Oilers.

Maybe Romo should have done that. He'd likely have him some CFL titles, too, if he picked the right team.
