From the interview I heard earlier, I think Smith will be motivated and can do well. Like he is an underdog, and the fans are already down in him. So he will be out to show them they are wrong.
Now he did not say that, but just the feeling I got that will motivate him. As he said he is hungry and never satisfied as he keeps improving.
Not to mention from Fort Worth and a Dallas fan

He will be a great leader of men and change the culture of this organization.
Maybe, sometimes peers follow leaders that dont care what anyone else thinks, say what they want to say because they can back it with their play.
When you can walk the walk you can talk the talk.
I want to believe that he can do both.

I see sloppy foot work in pass protection and that's not an opinion. When backpedaling your shoulders control your feet. You have to move your shoulders before you can move your feet. His shoulder movements are slow with causes his feet to be slow. He'll be able to move his shoulders quicker if he places his hands in towards his chest. High and tight should be his motto.

I'm ecstatic about the pick. Dak needs protection so he can stay in the pocket & survey the field. Change my mind!

Dak needs a pocket that lasts about a minute and a half. Drafting this penalty prone player isn't going to fix that.

Sounds like Tyler's sick of your mouth, guys.

If he gets more penalties in 2022 than Connor Williams had in 2021 I guarantee he will hear a hell of a lot more bad mouthing. If he thinks its bad now, just wait.

We all hope for the best, however giving the front office benefit of the doubt is not a consideration. First rounder has to play and play effectively. We will find out soon enough.
Well, the front office doesn't care about your opinion on that. This was a pick for next year and beyond. I expect him to be adequate at LG this year with a fair bit of growing pains. I'm hoping they're right about him, and I would expect to start seeing that in his second year.
