I agree, good points. I know they couldn't or wouldn't do it but I wish the players didn't put themselves in compromising situations. Like KJ is one that scares me. Let's say he doesn't any legal problems, he obviously has a decision making problem with his friends. Those guys most likely won't be his friend when the money dries up and KJ will be broke and won't be able to make the money he's making now.
So true
They are kids who tend to make poor decisions
I’m not sure giving me millions of dollars at 22 or so would have been a good idea lol
They have to be smart and surround themselves with the right people but at that age it’s very hard

It's crazy how fast his career faded. It felt like it went from blossoming to dead overnight. He was sure fun to watch for those years in Dallas though. Romo and him had a sweet connection.

I'm not sad for Dez, I'm proud of him. A kid from Lufkin, TX becomes a first round pick, star NFL WR, makes millions of dollars. What a life!

I get that he still has a desire to play and probably can be a backup receiver but every NFL player has a shelf life. Players that love the game and can't imagine their life without football will continue to seek opportunities until they no longer exist.

his body looks to be in great shape. And his hands can catch anything.

But he’s lost a step. The broken leg and the ACH tear ruined his career.

And that sucks.

there is room for him though. He should look at being a coach.

If he had learned route running early on he'd be different. What's he gonna teach? Athleticism?

I worry about him financially. I hope he saved some of his money that he made. I'd like to see him working as a commentator or as a guest on talk shows ala Michael Irvin. It would be rough on the emotions going from an NFL player to irrelevancy in such a short time. I hope things are well for him.

Bingo.

Something tells me Dez lives the Entourage lifestyle. He has way too much time on his hands to Twitter.

Became a Fall Guy and JJ dumped him late in free agency........should have been like Noah Brown, don't say anything, and don't do anything.....and he'd probably would have lasted longer on the team. QB, JG, and OC fix things by getting rid of people, instead of looking in the mirror and at film of their own play/play-calling/execution. Dez is done on the field.
Dez was never a fall guy. Lol. This idea is really absurd. If Dez was a fall guy for the Cowboys he would have another job by now. This thought is absolutely delusional.

I kind of find it bizarre that people are ragging on him. He was a stud for us and worked hard. People are speculating about money etc but overall he’s still working his tail off. I’d worry the guy was out of his mind if he was letting himself go and talking about returning. But he’s actually busting it to stay in shape and to get a shot. What’s wrong with hard work?

I wish the NFL had some type of payment plan to spread the income out for the lifetime of the players. I feel professional sports sets the athletes up to fail financially. You give a young person millions when they are too immature to know that's not going to be the norm. I worry about these guys after their playing days. If a person in their 20s is given millions of dollars they are going to attract parasites and con artists that don't care about them and try to get as much from them as they can. Some athletes are blessed with a good support system but others aren't and by the time they figure it out they can't make the money they used to. That 30 for 30 called "Broke" was pretty depressing.
NFL has a retirement system for players w/ at least 3 years of service.

Financial counseling is available and encouraged for all players.

Dez had talent....Noah's on the team because he hasn't leaked the pictures he has of Booger.

Dez sounds so desperate. Can't hell but feel sad for him. He's literally begging anyone, specifically the Arizona Cardinals, to hire him even as a backup or mentor. Sounds so desperate.

It's a shame to see our ex-88 this way. What say you?
Dez's downfall was on him, he didn't have the abilities to make himself an elite pattern runner and that hurt him because he couldn't get separation against the good corners in the lead.
