Posted on another thread earlier, if they don't think they need a vet swing tackle then they must be very high on Ball. Or high on something. Guess we are gonna find out because none of us have seen a second of him on the field.
We need Jerry to take a breathalyzer

Yeah, hopefully Ball has been on the practice field getting some schooling like Steele did......and not sitting on the couch watching Netflix originals eating flaming hot cheetohs with hot bean dip. Si senor, arriba Cowboys....:flagwave:

Think ball being setup to backup LT while the new guy backs up RT. Things could change in another year who knows

Yeah it would be extremely odd for your only backup OTs to be a 2nd year 4th round pick who missed his entire rookie year and a 5th round rookie.

A vet OT or two, will be brought in to compete, at a bargain price I might add....Stephen gots this.

I'm anxious to see Josh Ball in the preseason.

He was a better college player in 2017 than Steele was in 2020.

July cannot get here soon enough. We're deep enough that preseason games should be interesting. Second string lines should be something like:

Waletzko McGovern Lindstrom Farniok Ball
Gholston Ridgeway Gallimore Williams

I don't think they'll sign a veteran Swing Tackle.

The veteran Swing Tackles the past few years.
2021: Ty Nsekhe
2020: Cameron Erving (Erving was out much of the season and Knight/Steele ended up being the backups/starters for most games).
2019: Cameron Fleming
2018: Cameron Fleming
2017: Byron Bell
2016: Emmett Cleary

One of Ball, Waldo or Tyler Smith at OT are likely as good as those past Swing Tackles.
- It's not a high bar...

If none of them appear to be good options once they've played a couple of preseason games, it's not that difficult to get another Cameron Fleming type player prior to the start of the season.

I think Gallimore is a starter.

He looked good once he returned last season. Zack Martin says he is difficult to block in practice.

Extremely odd for this organization?
The Cowboys basically gave up on carrying a veteran backup QB.

Andy Dalton in 2020.

It was 2016 with Sanchez.

I don't really count Cooper Rush as a veteran backup QB because he has never been a full season starter at any point. He has 1 career start and that was in 2021.

In one of the post draft PC, Jerry said that Ball would be on the right side competing and Weletzco will be the swing tackle.

They said they don't need to bring in a vet swing.

Plans change but that is what was said in that pc.

Yes but when someone posted the offensive roster I thought it had ball as the backup LT.

And the other tackle we just drafted isn't even listed as a backup they have Alarcon backing up steel. Kinda weird but ok. And it's early so it'll change maybe.
