Former Papa John’s CEO: Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder wanted me to get Roger Goodell fired
Posted by Mike Florio on May 7, 2022, 10:27 AM EDT

No wonder Roger does everything in his power to smite the Cowboys. Also, no wonder the league doesn't like the Cowboys and don't care to do business with them. This is Jerry's fault. And for the love of God, why is he siding with Snyder to get Roger fired? He doesn't know how to pick his friends in high places.

I beg to differ on who has/had the more difficult task. Rozelle dealt with the merger, the scab season and the death of JFK. He had to generate money without today's TV contracts, the internet or cable. Goodell has had easy in comparison IMO

Goodell almost single handily saved the league from further litigation and lawsuits from head injuries which his testimony to Congress ensured the league would take action with new rule changes , stricter officiating and financial assistance to those already affected .

I’m not sure fans realize how threatened the future of the league was . No other commissioner has been faced with the potential far reaching damage the league has undertook on his watch.

All the while continuing to enhance their network deals , wealth and image of the league . He no doubt will go down as one of the greatest commissioners in sports history despite some of the petty criticism from some fans over personal conduct decisions which again were in the best interest of the league protecting the shield .

Speaking of head injuries, Joseph Randle is still in a prison-style mental hospital. Cowboys kind of turned their back on him.

I get it, he was being a knuckle head. But his family and ex say he suffered a head injury.

The owners could pick between 15 other people or more and the NFL would thrive.

Other owners were talking about making Jerry sell the team
if only !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Cowboys would benefit from a new owner, and their ratings would probably go up.

And I dont see where papa johns could have any involvement lol.
I am watching usfl game and PJ commercial just aired lol.

and yeah other owners like the increased revenue, so they like goodell.

I thought he showed all the signs of cte, which when combined with drugs and booze, can make a person do crazy stuff.
And jones did turn his back on him, should have had him committed for testing.

Yea, we can only fantasize and hope that Jed ticks off Don Goodellone enough to be forced to sell.

Interesting.

Was he doing booze and drugs on top of being concussed?

Dude ran like no other RB I'd seen in a while when he was named starter. But was just a flash in the pan . . . still in the mental hospital.

Now that I know about the league and the concussion stuff, I'm assuming Randle was kind of shooed out.

Meanwhile, Jerry paid $2 million in legal bills resulting from his failed coup, Goodell suspends a Cowboy every time they fart, and Goodell is getting a contract extension with a huge pay boost. Other owners were talking about making Jerry sell the team and refuse to give him real value in trades.

Yea, not any better as an owner than he is as a general manager.
Dan Synder and Cal McNair are the owners that need to be stripped of their franchise ownership.

I have mixed feelings about Dan Snyder being stripped of the Commodes ownership. At one level I would love to see him have to go through that personal and professional humiliation. On the other hand the team might be bought by somebody who knows what they’re doing.

Goodell’s a high paid puppet, doing the bidding of the inner circle, which is Mara, Kraft, that Dude from L.A., and a few others. They TOLERATE Jerry, because he brings the rating$, but he’s an outsider. I’m guessing they won’t let his team win another Super Bowl.

Goodell has destroyed the NFL but Jerry is the worst owner in the league. He set this team up to fail since he fired Jimmy. He got lucky once. Not happening again.
More like the Billions the NFL and its teams are taking in because of Jerry.
Jerry was the one that got the networks to pony up a lot more $$$ than they ever had. He got FOX to outbid CBS, and it started to snowball from there.
Destroyed the NFL lol? It’s literally the most poplar sport in America and had 18 of the 20 most watched sports telecasts last year.

Goodell isn’t perfect, but during his time the league has exploded into the monster it is today. We can all romanticize old times but ratings and following for the league are skyrocketing.
Durn near everything (away from the ganes) the NFL does is shown on tv.
The combine, the draft --- the schedule release (!) -- opening of training camps, and kickoff to regular season programming.
Also are the events the NFL is affiliated with - Senior Bowl practices, college pro days.
And the "reality-based" programs - "Hard Knocks" (training camp & pre-season) and "All or Nothing " (training camp through the regular season and playoffs).

The NFL has gotten to cozy with Vegas and all gambling. It has lost a lot of credibility IMHO.

makes sense. they want their own puppet in where they have more clout with them in the same way Mara and Rooney have with Goodell
