Vick vs Prescott?

"Through six seasons, Prescott has a significantly better completion percentage, more completions in fewer attempts and more touchdown passes than Vick has. Vick had half as many touchdowns and more interceptions through his first six seasons.

"But NFL fans believe almost universally that Vick was the better quarterback. Going to Twitter you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone showing support for Prescott over Vick.

"It's no big secret that Michael Vick was far from a polished passer as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. But that didn't stop him from leading the Falcons to the playoffs twice and making the Pro Bowl three times in his first six seasons.

"And when Vick became the starter for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, he turned the Eagles offense into a juggernaut. It's no surprise then that NFL fans are convinced that Vick would have done more with what Dak Prescott currently has."

It seems strange to me to make that comparison to start with, but hey! Cowboys make headlines!

What made Vick so dangerous was his running ability earlier in his career

For like 6 games.

Vick was not a good QB. Dak was far more talented throwing the ball, and it's not close.

Not a Dak homer here, BTW. More of a Vick was never all that good at QB. FYI, he was 8-8 and 7-9 his last two years in ATL.

Then again , Vick himself readily admits that when he was with Atlanta, he was entitled, immature and didn’t put in the necessary work that an NFL QB needs to put in.

Going to jail made him wise up and try harder. Which is why he improved after jail until his body broke down.


Dak is kind of the opposite of Vick in that regard. Vick had absolutely elite physical tools but a crap work ethic.

Dak’s pure physical tools aren’t on the same level as Vick but he is clearly a much harder worker than Vick was.

Dak is more talented than Vick as a passer, and it's not close.

Vick and Dak are very different QBs with different skill sets. Lamar Jackson is a much fairer comparison to Vick. Both running QBs, with adequate passing ability but questionable accuracy.

Dak is a pass first QB and is superior in all around passing ability to both Vick and Lamar despite them having bigger arms. Even though Vick was a "running" highlight reel I would absolutely take Dak over him.

You must be high. Vick got out of prison and had arguably his best year as a passer. Vick was dynamic with his legs. He had a arm but not the accuracy.

I think Vicks career was pretty abnormal. Very hard for me to find a comparable career

Yeah I think Lamar is who guys would look to but I think even Lamar has shown more as a passer somewhat.

Remember living in Atlanta at the time and my co-worker was a Falcon season ticket holder. He admitted as much as he loved Vick, he only threw if WRs were wide open. It was no secret Vick's work ethic had coaches pulling their hair out, the last one at practice, and the first one out. He had zero interest in being a student of the game.

Because most people don't look at stats, they watch the QBs play. They come to their conclusion based on how good, and how much impact the QB has in games they're actually watching. The statistics you pointed out would only be relevant if the two QBs played on the exact same team. Since they didn't, you have to take those stats with a grain of salt. Which most people did.

Vick was a game changer. We had never seen a QB like Vick before. He was like Tyreke Hill running the ball and had an arm like Jeff George.

Was he a great QB when it came to your typical Tom Brady style of QB? No.

Was he the main guy you game planned for every single week because of how many ways he could hurt you? Absolutely.

SIlly comparison because the guys are on very opposite sides on the coin.

Vicks physical abilities are far beyond what Dak can ever reach.

Vick wasn't/isn't in Prescott's universe and it's not even close.
