BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Can you imagine Michael Vick in this ERA, where the NFL is essentially running college-style offenses because of the rules, with the WR, OL and RG that Dak has been afforded with his whole career here and running the QB option off that?

Dak Prescott is definitely rising up the ranks though... he's soon to be number 1 in the most over-rated player in NFL history...

And no, he wasn't just known for his legs, he was known for his ability to toss the ball like 70 yards with a flick of wrist, and didn't need a wind-up like Dak Prescott that is so slow it often causes him to sail his passes behind WRS running wide open.

Vick couldn't utilize his WR's when he had them. Roddy White ring a bell?

Why are you guys overglorifying Vick? Two year wonder.

Funny thing is, there are several QB's who were easily better than Dak, why in the world would anyone pick a one dimensional runner who was mostly easy to shut down.

Those of you arguing for Vick, are you aware that he only had 2 decent seasons in his entire career, 04 and 10? His playoff wins were 02 and 04, BTW. Loooooong time ago.

W/ the Eagles, he was 8-3 as a starter in 2010. He started off well, but after a few games(I think it was 6) he went back to the same ol' crapp of taking off running all the time as the team started falling apart, culminating in 2 losses to close out the season and a playoff loss to GB.
Vick was exciting to watch and fans fell in love with his ability to run & rocket of an arm that went to waste because of the space between his ears.

I get what you're saying. If I was a GM with a Vick as my QB I would be looking to replace him, regardless of the highlight reel runs.

The difference between planning for Dak vs Vick is that you plan for Dak by taking away certain aspects of the offense to force him to carry the load. You plan for Vick by taking HIM away so he can't carry the load. Dak wont beat you by himself while Vick just might if you don't make sure he doesn't. At the end of the day neither of them are likely to beat you but I'll take the guy who is legitimately great at one aspect over the guy who is average at best at all aspects.

I actually specified "playoffs" just because the smaller sample size increases the odds he could land that lucky punch when needed.
Neither would be my first choice, but average QB's like Dak have won super bowls. A running QB has never won a super bowl. Kapernick did come close. Problem: The one dimension will be shut down by playoff D's. That is what history tells us, and is still telling us. Invariably, the super bowl QB's end up being guys who can operate from the pocket. Why? Because that's what opens up the O. A runner at QB closes down the O making it easy to stop. Which is why Vick only has 2 playoff wins for his entire career. And now we're seeing the same thing play out w/ Lamaar and Kyler.

We are comparing Dak Prescott to Mike Vick. We are trying to sit here and talk about a QB that can't utilize multiple WRs with Dak Prescott?

Roddy White played 2 years with Vick after the former was drafted and then Vick got kicked out of the league. He wasn't even a full-time starter at that point.

Facts are Vick can fire a rocket better than Dak, has a much faster release, is much better on the run and way more of a threat, and played with much worse personnel... Dak is not a better passer, he's a QB that falls back to a checkdown, because he's too scared to throw. And this may be considered his 'redeeming' feature, because it masks a whole ton of his warts as an actual QB. Dak is a risk averse back-up QB reality, affording a starting job because of the HOF OL and RB he fell into.

Yeah, yeah.....QB1 is a hot button topic, but I was reading.....

"A tweet has been going viral this afternoon stating (seemingly as fact) that Prescott is already a better quarterback than Vick. And in some ways that is true.

"Through six seasons, Prescott has a significantly better completion percentage, more completions in fewer attempts and more touchdown passes than Vick has. Vick had half as many touchdowns and more interceptions through his first six seasons.

"But NFL fans believe almost universally that Vick was the better quarterback. Going to Twitter you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone showing support for Prescott over Vick.

"It's no big secret that Michael Vick was far from a polished passer as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. But that didn't stop him from leading the Falcons to the playoffs twice and making the Pro Bowl three times in his first six seasons.

"And when Vick became the starter for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, he turned the Eagles offense into a juggernaut. It's no surprise then that NFL fans are convinced that Vick would have done more with what Dak Prescott currently has."

It seems strange to me to make that comparison to start with, but hey! Cowboys make headlines!

Based on what? He couldn't handle HIS era. He literally never led the NFL in a single QB statistic in his entire career.

"But only if he were playing now."

???

Because his era was when Tom Brady was relying on defense to win himself SBs... Peyton Manning was getting his a beat down come play-off time until the NFL had to lighten up the DB rules. This era has gotten to the point coaches are running college-style gimmick offenses.

You don't think a prime Vick would have opened up the offense more than Dak did against the 49's?

Dak Prescott is not even in the same universe as Michael Vick. If Michael Vick never got expelled from the NFL and went to prison, imagine what he could have been. Even with access to zero NFL programs while he was locked up this guy beefed up, put on weight and came back to the Eagles solid.

The way that Vick throws the ball, I wish Dak could sling it like that, not even counting the running aspect.

What a ridiculous post! Vick played 6 years before he got in trouble and his playoff record was 2-2. You’re gushing over the way Vick threw the ball but in his 13 year career he never passed for more than 3300 yards and 21 TDs in a season and his career completion percentage was under 60%. His career passer rating was only 80.4. His career playoff record was 2-4 and he only had one playoff game with over 200 yards passing. His career winning percentage was only 10 games over 500. All he could do real effectively was run. His mobility made him an exciting player but you’re not going to win crap with a QB who puts up weak passing numbers and he proved it.

Vick had only two seasons where he broke 3000 yards passing and 20 TD passes in 13 seasons. Lol I can only imagine what this fan base would be like if we had a QB that averages under 3000 yards and around 13 TD passes per season. Just snap the ball to him and let him takeoff running every play.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen a Dak vs Donovan McNabb because that’s who he compares with. Similar build with a thick lower body.

who did Vick ever have to throw to? (other than desean in philly) you put him in the league now, with the way the game has changed, the way offenses have changed and w/ a talented receiver corps I think he goes off personally

Laughable.

Michael Vick was better on his worst day than Dak on his best.

One day people will learn that statistics mean virtually nothing. But I'm not holding my breath.

Vick is a better QB right now than Dak.
