You're an equally savaged minded person as Vick.

It has always amused me the down right vitriol directed at Vick. I know none of you came up in Dog fighting culture and that's cool. But it exists. Vick was wrong for what he did and he paid for it.

To see people who want him basically killed for dogs........... There is a screwed up sense of justice. I have a pit puppy who I love, but I'm not gonna kill or even hurt a HUMAN over him.

Tap the brakes a little

Yea its beyond silly how these holier than thou people think. Appalled by what Vick did but then turn around and want to do the same thing to him.

The man paid the price for what he did and learned from it.

Yeah, yeah.....QB1 is a hot button topic, but I was reading.....

"A tweet has been going viral this afternoon stating (seemingly as fact) that Prescott is already a better quarterback than Vick. And in some ways that is true.

"Through six seasons, Prescott has a significantly better completion percentage, more completions in fewer attempts and more touchdown passes than Vick has. Vick had half as many touchdowns and more interceptions through his first six seasons.

"But NFL fans believe almost universally that Vick was the better quarterback. Going to Twitter you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone showing support for Prescott over Vick.

"It's no big secret that Michael Vick was far from a polished passer as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. But that didn't stop him from leading the Falcons to the playoffs twice and making the Pro Bowl three times in his first six seasons.

"And when Vick became the starter for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, he turned the Eagles offense into a juggernaut. It's no surprise then that NFL fans are convinced that Vick would have done more with what Dak Prescott currently has."

It seems strange to me to make that comparison to start with, but hey! Cowboys make headlines!

Twitter means nothing. Vick was a tremendous athlete - one of the (if not "the") most athletically gifted QBs the NFL has ever seen. But he was not the QB Dak is. And I don't say that because I believe Dak is so dramatically good that others can't compare, I say that because Vick's ability as a QB didn't not match his pure athleticism.

Most teams that win Super Bowls have a great pass rush. You can’t have a QB that’s looking to takeoff all the time and get it done in postseason. No run first QB has ever won a championship. The good running QBs that won Super Bowls were great passers and they’re all in the HOF.

Clearly you're talking Super Bowls only.. because there was a time when the QB was regularly the opne of the leading rushers for every team.. Those QBs were not just run first.. They were run second, third and fourth. But yeah.. very different game back then.

Can you name a run first QB prior to the Super Bowl era that won a championship? Back in the earlier days of football there was a lot of running but I can’t think of a team in any era that ever won a championship with a QB that did it mostly with their legs. Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson are the two greatest running QBs we’ve ever seen at the NFL level and Randall Cunningham wasn’t far behind. Bobby Douglas was a great running QB for the Bears back in the day and none of them won a championship. The best running QB to win a Super Bowl was Steve Young but he was a great passer and he threw a SB record 6 TD passes in the Super Bowl.

Most great QBs make receivers. Other than Shannon Sharpe Elway never had anything at receiver. Dan Marino made the marks brothers. Michael Vick wasn’t a great passer coming out of college and that was the concern with him. He was the number one overall pick because he was an electrifying runner. He had a strong arm but wasn’t a polished passer and never developed into one. The way the game has changed now you have to be a productive passer and you have to be good in the pocket. The Ravens are trying to make Lamar Jackson better in the pocket which has caused his rushing numbers to go down. For a QB to win consistently in todays game especially in the playoffs they have to get it done with their arm. You’re not going to win consistently with a QB that struggles to throw for 200 yards.
Remember Romo making Laurent Robinson a legit receiver

Right, Robinson was nothing prior to coming to the Cowboys and nothing after he left the Cowboys. He had less than half as many catches in Jacksonville and only 252 yards the following season.

You don't think a prime Vick would have opened up the offense more than Dak did against the 49's?
Absolutely not. Vick was easily contained by O's such as SFs. His success had ended by the time he went to prison, and only lasted a few games when he came back. He then went back to the same ol' tired routine of running the ball every play. His 2nd year in Philly he was terrible.

who did Vick ever have to throw to? (other than desean in philly) you put him in the league now, with the way the game has changed, the way offenses have changed and w/ a talented receiver corps I think he goes off personally
Roddy White. And an excellent #2 in Mike Jenkins.

We are comparing Dak Prescott to Mike Vick. We are trying to sit here and talk about a QB that can't utilize multiple WRs with Dak Prescott?

Roddy White played 2 years with Vick after the former was drafted and then Vick got kicked out of the league. He wasn't even a full-time starter at that point.

Facts are Vick can fire a rocket better than Dak, has a much faster release, is much better on the run and way more of a threat, and played with much worse personnel... Dak is not a better passer, he's a QB that falls back to a checkdown, because he's too scared to throw. And this may be considered his 'redeeming' feature, because it masks a whole ton of his warts as an actual QB. Dak is a risk averse back-up QB reality, affording a starting job because of the HOF OL and RB he fell into.
Vick was a terrible passer. Absolutely awful.

Vick was a game changer. We had never seen a QB like Vick before. He was like Tyreke Hill running the ball and had an arm like Jeff George.

Was he a great QB when it came to your typical Tom Brady style of QB? No.

Was he the main guy you game planned for every single week because of how many ways he could hurt you? Absolutely.

When teams played the Falcons and Vick/ opposing D/C game planned to stop Vick, when teams play the Cowboys today opposing D/C gameplan to stop everybody but Dak...that's all you need to know

Nobody is comparing Marino and Elway to Vick, they are comparing him to Dak. Further, I’m glad arguably the best pure passers the game has seen in this context, as Dak fans like to talk about checkdown Charlie’s completion percentage when comparing him to Vick, meaning across “generations” while Elway and Marino, were career 50 percentile throwers on completion percentage, meaning where Vick was.

If a team plans to stop receivers how is that not also planning to stop Dak? I'm also wondering what the blitzing is all about.

What are you trying to say? Half the games played with twice the production is worse?
There Prescott hatred and then there's this next level embarrassment.
You simply don't understand football. You're not alone.

Vick? why Vick? He is one of the most overrated qb's of all time. People were just enamored of his running. I think he won one playoff game.
