and a rookie OTA with no update on a payer they most likely didn't make eligible to practice. It was for select few players..

why the fuss before the real MCs and TCs start..we will find out soon enough.
Exactly. What would we even expect as an update? That Ball is working out?

Lol there aren’t any football activities right now what would they even update us on.

I wouldn't be surprised if both Alarcon and Coyle were sent packing if they don't impress in the weeks to come. Let's keep tuned in!
The OL depth got deeper as well as back 7 prospects, I agree.
Alarcon is an interesting hold still, considering the familiarity aspect, and no roster burden.
Coyle will need an exceptional camp to get noticed.

- Per pre-draft, i think i heard where Cowboys had a…..

- I think Ball was even considered a better athlete and prospect than 5th rd pick Matt Waletzko.

- Ball and Waletzko are gonna be so very key for us, because the club has made the decision Not to go with the usual.
No Fleming, ..no Irvin,.. no Nsekhe .... just only inexperience 2nd year and rookie OTs.

Both Ball ( Cox and Ball fame, LOL )and Waletzko Are 6’7” and big guys , Waletzko seems need a few more months to work out and in NFL shape, where as Ball should be good to go with one year already in the training facilities .

But we have to see him on the field.

Sure but my point is that both were selected after him and were not there. Neither were the guys picked before him
Way too early to be sweating the details, Im sure there was a reason, and as long as the reason doesnt come with an arrest warrant than Im not overly concerned at this point.

Issac Alarcon ?
it seems like he's been on this practice squad/team like forever.
I'm not seeing why we are continuing to invest in him.
Dude was green as spring grass. It will take some seasoning to get him to the point of challenging for the 53.

This is a legitimate question.

How far down the roster can you go after being a 4th round pick and not playing a single down your entire rookie season?

Does this technically make this season his rookie year? In any case, how could you not want to size him up alongside your new rookies? Invite Alarcon but not Ball?

it would seem to me that Ball is the exact type of non-rookie you would want to invite to the minicamp.

I doubt it's a case of not being invited with Ball. He had a 2nd round grade by the Cowboys staff at draft time.
So that alone shows what they thought of him as a pure prospect.

- I myself was inquiring about Ball's availability, so as it's not injury- related. Whether past injury (severe high ankle sprain)
or something entirely new and current, that could linger and become a setback.

- And for those questioning the question of why does it matter to ask for Ball?
it does matter for a very raw guy with no game experience to attend as many camps, whether rookie, mini, or training camp
or preseason games because apparently that green-grass guy is gonna be counted on to be one of the upfront backup swing tackles
on the depth chart.

- It remains to be seen if Cowboys will consider an experienced vet swing OT at some point in camp.

- And the way Tyron Smith is assured to be/get hurt and out of several games, it's imperative to have these inexperienced guys
be caught up to par as much as possible, as soon as possible. .

consider an experienced vet swing OT

Keep an eye on Denzelle Good.

Raiders' media have him pegged to start at LG, but he's regarded as a flex guy at tackle as well. He's said to be 100% now, but had went down in the first game last season with a knee injury. He's pricey @ $3.7m for a team with about $5m of effective cap space (per OverTheCap.com), and it's suspected that the Raiders have too many other almost-as-good options for Good to not be cut or traded.

Fits the profile of exactly what we need--viable OG option if the 21 yr-old isn't NFL-ready, viable OT option if he is, and not so great that you can't acquire him, not so terrible that he's represents no improvement over the in-house options.

Anyone "pricey" is gonna be an huge obstacle with " Moneyball " Stephen Jones - A free agent guy would have to be veteran minimum wages and a one year rental.
and because they have just recently invested in Ball and Matt Waletzko, as swing tackles, i'm thinking they want those young cats to develop and gain the necessary
experience.

- And if i had to guess with Stephen Jones & Co, ..they will wait it out while closely observing those two green-grassers.

- And that's a big gamble as other NFL teams will snatch up these experienced vets as backup assurance.
