In other words, Risen has about 400 other user names he uses to pad his like total.

With the number of messages he has it wouldn’t take more than 3 or 4 usernames.

Let's say you are a young enough Cowboys fan to where you weren't even old enough to remember the last Cowboys Super Bowl championship back in January 1996.

How in the hell did you get roped into becoming a Cowboys fan? Was it the Joneses and their wit and savvy?

Just curious.

A strange series of events that caused me to be an oddball Cowboys fan. As stated, had I known football more in 1999 (my dad won a Pro Bowl trip through some event at the time, but I couldn't handle loud noises so I cried during the game cuz the crowd noise at the time was too much for me). I didn't want to go with the NFC East rivals, I wasn't going to switch to the Texans when they joined, and I didn't want the Jets. So, the only team for me was the Cowboys. Also, my dad's mother was a Cowboys fan. So that helped. Had I known who John Elway was at the time when we were on the same plane, I'd probably have been a Denver Broncos fan, which probably would fit my fursona lol, but I have no desire yet to change teams....but it is a bit strange that the one team we have yet to beat since I became a fan is Denver.

Oh yeah, and one of my 4 best friends on two longest running best friends is a Broncos fan. Spent a weekend with him in Denver two weeks ago funny enough. However, Emmitt Smith was also a reason I became a Cowboys fan. I looked up to him growing up.

Tbh for me it family. I grew up watching the Cowboys during their last run. Left football alone for 4-5 years and came back to this mess. Back then I didnt know all the back end news. My dad didnt talk much about the Cowboys after their run. Heck I also recall him gave them a break for a couple of years too. If the FO do not commit to change this franchise will start to lose its shine. I could understand this drought if this team had some playoff sucess or deep runs. But I do think we shouldve had two sbs by name. A few of those games it felt as we got robbed.

The first Christmas I remember must have been 1985 or 1986 and the very first thing I saw was a Cowboys uniform hanging on the mantle over the fireplace.

The first Cowboys game I got into was the 94 NFC championship game. I knew we were in decline after that. So I guess I am one of the fans who saw our last Super Bowl, but to be honest I didn't enjoy it because we had the talent to blow them out and we didn't. It was obvious we didn't take it seriously and played flat most of the game in my opinion.

I was born in December 1992, so I was alive for the last SBs, but I was just over 3 years old when we won our last one.

It's usually your own family that does you in.

Love the responses this thread is getting. And nice to see some light bulbs light up out there. A few of you are starting to feel resentful towards Jerry and Stephen, the Boss Hogg and Rosco P Coltrane of the NFL. oh how I wish Jimmy Johnson would have nipped this in the bud decades ago. Like when Jerry started showing up on sidelines and grabbing *****. Imagine if Jimmy would have looked Jerry straight in the eye and said, the next time I see you on the sideline during a game, you better be wearing a uniform and a jock strap. I'll put your stupid *** in the game!!

From my understanding he did. He looked at him and asked him what the hell he was doing there. Go back up to the owner's box.

I've also seen clips of Jimmy's last season and Jerry was on the sidelines, Jimmy looked perturbed. They both looked extremely uneasy.

I haven't seen him on the sidelines in 4 or 5 years. I doubt we see him again.

Emmitt Smith, living in Texas when I got into football with no Houston team at the time, and the only teams that I knew of at the time were the Cowboys, Eagles (my dad's and most of my family's team), Giants, and Jets. Obviously, the Cowboys were the best choice of those. Funny enough, I was once on the same plane in Hawaii as John Elway. I was new/not really into football yet at the time. Had I known about football more and known who that was, I could very easily have been a Broncos fan (and I do like Denver, and I do cheer them on when they don't play the Cowboys). Ironically, the only team I've never seen us beat is the Broncos. However, I'm still a big Cowboys fan. If the Cowboys were to ever vanish, the Broncos would probably be my landing spot. However, I have no interest in leaving the Cowboys yet.
Don't give up rusty !
You're young enough to see the Cowboys post
Jerry.
Maybe Stephen will hire a GM.
