What happens when Zeke has a great year, and Pollard leaves as a FA, and Zeke restructures his contract?
That should be entertaining on here.

Same as if Pollard has a great year, if used correctly, and Zeke has a so-so year. Should be some good off-season entertainment.
As either one of those above can happen.

Also both could have a great season, and then what?
Let Zeke go, save cap space, pay Pollard, if they feel he can be the featured RB, but many do not think he can.
Let Zeke go, Pollard leaves vis FA, and they draft a 3rd round RB like many say one can be as productive. Only for him not to be.

What is best for the Cowboys is for zeke to no longer be a Cowboy. That much is painfully obvious. His contract is a huge problem and his hold on the offense and the RB position creates another huge problem. Zeke hold back this offense with his slow, plodding, ball hogging style.

Why does Pollard have to be a featured back?

They do not want to go by logic. It is not in the agenda or narrative to do so.

How does having a few carries make a RB better? That's the dumbest thing I have EVER heard. If anything, RB's need to get in a groove. Harder to pop the big one with 5 or 6 carries a game. You get 10-15 and now you get a chance to do some damage.

The problem is when you have both running backs in, you either don't have a tight end or you don't have a 3rd receiver. Unless you can trick a team with formations, replacing a receiver with Pollard makes your team worse.

It would be nice to feature Pollard more but he needs to stay healthy. Last season he injured his foot against New Orleans and it limited him the rest of the season.

Stay healthy? What the H are you talking about? Pollard missed like one or two games with a ding and thats it in 3 years. Zeke was the one that was hurt for half the season.

Pollard can play the slot, have him run short and intermediate routes from the slot and a few Jet Sweep actions will keep the defense honest. He is everything Linehan and Garret was looking for in the Tavon Austin experiment, except Pollard is better running back and receiver. The big thing is he just needs a little bit of space.

Pollard breaks more tackles and makes more people miss than Zeke, that is a statistical fact. Pollard doesnt need anything but more carries and an opportunity.

Can we at least see what he’s capable of as the lead back before writing him off?

"Duh Pollard is so good because they rarely use him"

Has to be one of the dumbest quotes of the year. Doesnt even make any sense.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Its amazing how much better the O line looks when Pollard runs versus Zeke.

In general, defenses could just pinch in on Zeke, knowing he would rarely take it outside and beat teams with speed. Beyond that, he has picked up the habit of waiting for a big hole instead of just bursting out. Zeke's knee injury seemed to have made this significantly worse. Its a sin that Dallas kept Zeke with the majority of the workload despite his injury.

Elliott, if healthy should take the starts. What happens after this coming season is another conversation.

I’m not writing him off. I’m just saying I don’t think Zeke gets more carries just because they are invested in him with money. I honestly feel like Pollards role is perfect for what they need.

Let us then give Zeke limited touches.

I think this is my favorite post of yours yet. So if getting limited touches makes RB's better, then lets give Zeke as little as possible since he needs the most help. LOL

Bravo!!!

I didn't want to believe it, but that's part of it. Salary. But I can't understand when Zeke was injured....

I agree with more touches. Not disagreeing there. But there’s a part of this fanbase that thinks Zeke should get less carries but him punishing the defense probably benefits Pollard.

Only Zeke doesnt punish the defense. Pollard is the one punishing defenses. Being easy to tackle isnt punishing anyone.

Pollard is underused and misused. Don't care if you view Pollard as a cop RB he should've played more due to Zeke being injured.

agree.. but Pollard was injured too. I wish we would of drafted a RB this year…
