When was it that you lost faith in Moore as OC?

I was never sure about his head coaching ability simply because he was handed the OC job and never struck me as someone who commanded a room. I thought at minimum he was a young smart coordinator who was worth retaining. However, when the running game became nonexistent last year and how he struggled to adapt it got me second guessing. McCarthy should have gotten more involved to help his young coordinator.

Well see what was learned this year.

I was fine with McCarthy not messing with the offense these first coupla years.. but now three years in he should feel comfortable enough with the old Cowboys offense which is descended from the Sid Gilman/Air Coryell offense that he can infuse some of his own WCO based concepts. And he definitely needs to reign Boise Boy in come red zone time. All this getting cute in the red zone made all my hair fall out! LOL!

If your basing your opinion on fact he didn’t bench Elliott then I’d argue it wasn’t his decision.

And I think you answered your own question into what happened to Moore and the offense leading up to your issue with Elliott which was clearly Jethro’s decision.
Well I think that could be how it is, but there is a chance the mike and kellen just know jerry wants elliot to get most snaps, and they are both
too cowardly to give pollard more touches than elliot.
If they dont have the kahunas to do what they know is right thing, then they are both losers.
you cant be cowardly and succeed , especially in playoffs.
So basically they are both willing puppets and cowards.

if they did what was right, and played pollard way more in the wc game or others, and won, what is jerry going to do about it?
even if he fires them, they could both get another job easily. They are just cowards.

Moore was a breath of fresh air in the beginning. The passing game immediately went to the next level after Garrett left and Moore was able to open things up. In 2020 the Cowboys had a record breaking offense before Dak went down at 32 points per game. Even last year despite the inconsistent 2nd half they had the #1 scoring offense in the NFL at 30 points per game and the #1 passing game in the NFL yardage wise.

But for me personally it was the 2nd half of the season when teams made some adjustments and he failed to adjust himself. Now granted the Oline went in the toilet and Zeke got hurt which killed the run game. But once teams went into the two deep zone Moore went into a shell. He couldnt seem to adjust to that. Things got basic again. And the fact that he had the perfect opportunity to bench Zeke for the more dynamic Pollard and didnt, that was it for me.

Is there any hope that he learns from his inexperience and blossoms going forward or is he done?
Well there is always hope lol, and then dont forget the PROCESS !!!!!!
Watch the tape and get better ! learn from mistakes ! fight ! and with daks leadership they will get better lol.

But to me I was shocked when they made kellen OC after one season as qb coach! That was bizarre.
jerry tried to make his own HC with JG, and now it seems he is trying to make his own OC, who will eventually be HC.

I gave Kellen a chance, but he just isnt ready to be a OC, and he is a passing OC who just doesnt value or know how or when to use the run game.
He seems to just throw run plays in at random, with no plan.

He also as some have said, will do something that works well, then we never see it again ! lol
and things that dont work well , he will do those too much.
I think defenses can read dallas O formations , and know what they are going to do most of the time.

But kellen is great against bad teams, as shown last year in the games with nfc east. which is where alot of those points and yards were racked up.

But kellen could get better, but since he is afraid of jerry and a coward, that limits how good he can be to the point where he is never gonna
do well in playoffs. Same for mike, he is limited in what he can do because he is a coward.

How do you lose faith in an OC that produced the #1 offense in two out of the past three seasons?

In the year that they were not #1 they were #1 up until the starting quarterback was out for the season with a compound fracture.

Also that year:

They lost their starting TE in game #1.

The starting RT didn't play a single down

Their All Pro LT started two games before he was out,

Their All pro Center retired just before the season,

Their All Pro RG started 10 games before being lost for the season.

By the end of the season, the offensive line protecting Dalton and others was manned by undrafted tackles Knight and rookie Steele, backup center Joe Looney, and both Connors at G. Connor Williams was actually the anchor

Still, the Cowboys ranked in the middle on offense.

The Cowboys took some lumps due to his inexperience, was that not expected? Yes, he made some mistakes, so they get rid of him now that he has gained valuable experience from those mistakes?

If they get rid of Moore then the team takes significant steps backwards as the offense must now learn a new system. That just doesn't make sense.

Don't worry, he will be gone soon enough.

Oh, you callow fellow, you and your sapos with guitars!
You assume all were enamored at first or later with Moore?
Moore, tadpole, was and is Garrett II with a jig there and a jag there to embellish our offencive attack. Moore's wont is to attack via 4 players when successful teams
A. Get the ball to the star receiver and
B. Give the ball to the star RB.
2 players are featured and essential by successful teams. Not 4 as Moore insists.
Never was enamored of Moore, and our anemic playoff record speaks largely for Moore's blah oatmeal attack.
Blimey, now I have gotten meself miffed and peeved.

Carry on, tadpole.
I remain your fan.

It happened gradually, the play calling has been questionable the entire time he's been OC

I never had any faith in Moore as OC, or any other position he has been gifted by Jerry. He's failed at literally everything he's done at the NFL level, yet he'll probably be around here for another decade in some capacity.

I haven’t lost faith he was given the job too soon. By professionals he is regarded positively

That’s typical trolling tactic.

No HC this down era made a greater impact despite his won loss record. He was like a Savior raising this franchise from the ashes of 5-11 Funk.

It’s difficult to even imagine where we might have continued going if not for Bill. Maybe we would have sunk low enough for Jethro to have had to sell out.

If anything we should blame Bill for saving the Cowboys for Jethro which enabled him to build his new stadium basically placing the nail in the coffin for what we have evolved into which ultimately led to Garrett era.
You see, you've pretty much been praising Ol' 34-32 for keeping Jerry's head slightly enough above water to entertain the crowd enough to trick them in continuing to buy what Jerry has been selling.

Talk about supporting the coach who saved Jerry and has continued decades more of misery. Ouff! Buyer's remorse, Greg? Sheesh...

Last game of season in Philly (2019) when division championship was on the line. Fourth & goal Moore benched our two WR's & called same running play. Egals knew it & shut the door on Elliott to score. We not only lost the game, but division title as well.

Moore's play calling has been exposed & went down hill thereafter!

Have not completely lost faith,
I think he was limited because of the QB. If he trots out Dak as a pocket passer this season KM, MM should both fired early and often, He should move Daks around and occasionally use the pocket like 30%, attack the outside with Pollard.

Just calling as I see it. Was not a Parcells fan but won’t let my feelings influence reality.

You can’t blame our coaches for following orders . The blame must reside on who makes the decisions and sets the rules .

If you want to hold our coaches responsible for being puppets then that’s fine but those are the parameters going in. They aren’t specifically associated with Elliott.

This is just another glaring example of how our dysfunctional ownership presents the greatest obstacle to overcome . And he must be the target.

I'm 50/50 with him between the 20's, but he has been a total failure in the Red Zone. Did not appreciate him being handed the keys and given the opportunity to learn on the job in the first place.
That whole "he'll learn on the job"....with OUR Cowboys? grrr.

Like RonnieT24 said a few posts up. What’s our TD to FG percentage once you smell blood and your in the “ red zone “ ….that tells you a lot about how much success your having . I think it was Buffalo last year had a ridiculous amount of success in the red zone and now that OC is coming to a theater near us dressed as the Giants HC.

To me Moore is like problem 23 out of 25 on the Math test . Bigger concerns ? Well is Ridgeway the Arkansas farmer the real deal and can he help Dallas stop the run . Or how about Tolbert Washington possibly the UDFA Roberson ….can they make up for Cooper & Wilson gone . Can Williams and co get to the QB at the same time not line up in the neutral zone like Randy Gregory 3 times a game ….those are the tricky questions . Moore ahhh I’ve seen worst .
