Translate: He will never coach the Dallas Cowboys (lol)

Keshawn Johnson thinks the Cowboys will offer Payton 130 million in the offseason. I get it when your show talks about the Cowboys it gets more views but Jerry and Stephen would never pay a coach 8 million a season let alone 20+.:rolleyes:

I caught that one....along with acquiring Brady and making him minority OWNER. For one season, maybe two? Ownership stake? No way. Not even for him.

I had actually believed Florios claim about Payton to Dallas in 2019, because I thought he had some credibility.

Now there's even more outrageous, unprecedented deals that were "done deals," then suddenly collapsed out of nowhere due to another circumstance that shouldn't have had anything to do with anything in either case.

Pretty sure he is part of the click bait world these days. Shameful. Used to respect the guy.

I had seen that earlier this morning. Joke. He's not worth it. Now, if Jimmy Johnson was available....

The Jones pay for their coaches, if not we wouldn't have given our coordinators raises and no one would want to coach here.

Jerry Jones and Sean Payton are friends. Not friendly, but friends.

Jerry Jones also thinks of himself as a tremendous asset to the Cowboys and when he finally does step down, do you think he is going to tell the kid to just hire whoever he wants? I don't.

He is going to want a guy to act as HC and part time GM. Someone he knows and trusts. Payton and Loomis worked very closely on player acquisition in NO and he is a way more qualified GM than what we have been dealing with.

It's very possible Jerry has assured him of an offer being there when we get to that point. The broadcasting thing bridges that gap, which Jerry probably had a big influence over him getting (unless Romo and Witten were coincidences lol).

His "running out of time" comment came on the way out of a one on one dinner with Payton during SB week.

It may not be next year, but I think Sean Payton ends up here eventually, and the "he won't work in this circus" thing doesn't apply.

It doesnt seem like it, but Jerry Jones eventually won't be reporting for active duty every day at some point. The kid on his own without Jerry's sunshine selling leaves the whole family open to being exposed as fraud NFL FO types.....and I'm pretty sure Jerry knows that, and will want to leave things in the hands of a guy like Payton, where the kid can still pretend to be an NFL GM as part of the deal.

I expect MM to get the next two seasons and live out his whole contract, then once Jerry has nothing left to sell to his fan base, he makes the Payton move.

The Saints won't get much if anything for compensation at that point as a perk on our end.

why would he i mean look around the league 12mil is highest paid HC right now so what you expect jerry to pay 2-3 times for coach whops burned out? if he was offered 20+ and don't take it, hes burned out..even if he comes back for how long? come here steal money and take off after 2-3 years like Parcels did?

its ironic and ridiculous fans think Jerry should pay a coach twice what the going rate is jst to get a coach who wants to retire..lmao..

IMO you offer him 15 if he doesnt want it no big loss..no thx

Payton is a good coach and while I disagree, I can understand why people think he is better than McCarthy and dont feel compelled to argue.

I absolutely will argue that he is not 2 first round picks better than big mike.

Nobody can just offer a coach like Payton anything and skirt the Rooney Rule. There has to be a full complete and HONEST search that includes minority candidates. You can disagree with the rule. But that is the rule.

Especially in Miami, where the owner is in trouble given the Flores accusations. They would have to play by the hiring book. And throwing money at Payton without an HONEST search wouldn't fly in league circles.

Same goes in Dallas. If Jerry wants Payton, it can only be after a legitimate search involving minority candidates. Token interviews to slide by the Rule no longer works.

Everybody knows Jerry loves Payton and would love to have him in Dallas. For that very reason alone, the league will likely have extra scrutiny to ensure there was a legit search before allowing Payton in Dallas, assuming it ever happens.
