I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that Hill was another Marinelli mistake. His days are probably numbered.
Whats worse.

The players taken after him in the second round.

(59) Indianapolis Colts: Parris Campbell, WR - Ohio State
(60) Los Angeles Chargers: Nasir Adderley, S - Delaware
(61) Los Angeles Rams (From KC): Taylor Rapp, S - Washington
(62) Arizona Cardinals (From MIA, return for Josh Rosen): Andy Isabella, WR - UMass
(63) Kansas City Chiefs (From LAR): Juan Thornhill, S - Virginia
(64) Seattle Seahawks (From NE): D.K. Metcalf, WR - Ole Miss

Thank Rod. What a parting gift.

i dont think both Bohanna and Ridgeway both make the team, one of them will be cut.
Didn't someone tell Jerry we need more guys like Bohanna and Ridgeway on the roster. I could have sworn I heard that during a press conference.

So if they're looking for more guys like Bohanna and Ridgeway what makes you think one or the other won't make the roster? That's a rhetorical question, BTW.

Early on, i can see us keeping 10 DL guys, five which includes the DTs... both 3-techs, 1 techs.

1 Osa Diggy
2 Gallimore
3 Watkins
4 Hill
5 Ridgeway or Bohanna ?

I like Hill's chances at the roster better than i do with Bohanna, to which i think the club will only keep two 1-techs.
Vet Watkins is expected tto be one of the 1 techs.
Bohanna will have to compete and beat out rookie Ridgeway this summer to make this roster, imo.
Biggest question is, who can they sneak on the ps, think Bohanna would be that player over Hill. I also think Basham better have a strong camp or he could be that release candidate over the 2 mentioned.

Trysten Hill will be one of the three 3-tech DT guys I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
Some here either will,.. or already have written him off the roster.

- Barring injury, I still think Trysten has a chance to make this 53 roster as a key rotation guy.
Yes, he is not Quinn’s hand picked draft selection, but neither is Gallimore.

- I don’t think his mini camp impressions is by luck, as it was reported he gave rookie Tyler Smith
some problems vs pass, shouldn't come as a surprised.
Hill is athletic and agile, and can move well off the blocks and in pursuit for one 310 pounds.

- For one over 300 pounds, I even to tend to think in terms of his lateral movement, agility and change of direction may be better than Gallimore.
I think between durability and discipline issues (maturity) , that’s been his biggest issues and setbacks.

- Like Gallimore, he’s been slowed and setback by injuries,
He was benched for most of his rookie year under Marinelli
His 2nd year was immediately shortened by the ACL tear injury
His 3rd year he was very slow to recover off coming off that ACL injury; by mid-season.
It didn't helped by a game suspension per post game Raiders.
agree on this much this place wont give him a shot but i believe guys can develop and fit in system with coaches who know wow to utilize players..TH has shot no doubt, why not , Quinn's good with specific players finding them roles.

He tore his ACL in the same game Dak got hurt in 2020 and spent half of 2021 on PUP.. He was never going to be back to full strength coming off a torn ACL. Those things take a full year to get right for people not named Adrian Peterson. I hope he balls out this year.. He has a good set of tools.. good size, explosive first step quickness and good strength.. and a helluva motor .. dude ran down quite a few plays downfield that had gone away from him after the rest of the d-line had decided to become spectators. He just needs to reign in his emotions and not let guys get into his head.

What would comprise Hill's roster chances, is Gholston (a Quinn pick) adding bulk to supposedly be moved inside; still to be determined
If it will be for nickel-rush sub, or full time DT.

- What would help Hill's chances may be because of his experiences as both 3tech, and and occasionally 1 tech,3 and 4 man DL front, combined with his
Athleticism and tools, I can still see Trysten being a part of this DT rotation.
Plus I believe we’re going with only two 1 techs, which likely would be Watkins and rookie Ridgeway.

I’m just not that optimistic about Quinton Bohanna, who really moves so well for a 330+ pound guy, but displayed nuthin’ as a run defense performer his rookie.
He was pretty much always on the ground, on his backside, with opposing linemen driving into the ground, or wipe-washing him outta the run lanes...in every single
game i saw him in.

He was also getting washed out and part of that historically bad start prior to his injury. It's a shame we point to hustle plays as a positive. Seems to indict the team as a whole.

Definitely.

His RAS is like 9.5. So he definitely has the athleticism.

I saw a few clips where he was playing pretty well. I'm actually pulling for him to finally step up.

As all of us should be. Unfortunately there are those who become fully vested in being "right" about whatever they decided about a player before they ever saw him play and they continually spew the negative about said player to the exclusion of all else. It's completely illogical to me to be outwardly hoping any player on MY team fails.. But um ole skool like that.. Now get off my lawn..

Let me clarify...

I would like nothing better than to be wrong about Hill and he turns into a 10 sack 3 tech. That would be absolutely wonderful.

I watched him in the SF game not that long ago, unfortunately, and him getting pushed all over the field is still fresh in my mind though.

3 years, hasn't shown it....likely won't ever show it.

He needs one of those 6 game suspensions like DLaw and Irving got before their breakout years.

I think this is it for Hill, he is a FA after this season and he will need to go out and earn the job. Personally I think the odds are against him.

See Dlaw and Irving both showed glimpses of that ability.

Hill hasn't shown anything except being a blocking magnet.

A suspension is the last thing Hill needs. He’s already been suspended once.
