Yeah.

That's not really how it works.

We'll see this season though if it's a fluke or not.
Oh it isn't?

So teams will continue to throw ints and complete 52% of their passes against him with a 55.8 rating?

I doubt that.

21 Passes defensed last year. For reference, Ramsey had 16 in 5 less attempts against.

They can afford it, but they (Jones') aren't the best at cap management so there's that.

The way all these receivers and Qb's are getting paid the Owners will have no choice but to raise the cap substantially

Perhaps, but that seems like a slipper slope when you sign CBAs so long in length. Can't be renegotiating every other year because the NFLPA is going to ask for extras every time. More money plus lesser practices then more money plus lesser practices plus more to the retirement fund, etc. Each increase is going to be a negotiation that eats more and more at their bottom line. It's not going to be easy.

If you have an offense that you think can capitalize off the turnovers...Diggs' INT's are legit game changers. Even more so in Playoffs.

But if your offense is mediocre or bad Diggs might not be worth the contract. Flipping him for FRPs might be more ideal.

But...giving up big plays are game changers too.

Bill Belichick once said all stats are important but there are only two he cares about, points and turnovers. As he put it, yards mean nothing w/o points and no defensive stat impacts the game like turnovers. Not his exact words but in a nutshell.

What?

You thought I would ignore Micah's bad performance, didn't you?

I don''t play that game. You play bad and you get criticized. I'm not like ya'll with your excuse riddled monologues trying to defend your favorite players bad play.

lol no. you latch on to a narrative / strawman and try to place anyone who disagrees with you into it. my original post was about your asinine comment about a preseason drill being sone huge indictment. i only expounded on the ints because you’re attempting to gaslight people into believing they aren’t significant or worthy of praise. as far as micah’s poor play no i didn’t expect you to ignore it i used it to illustrate your hypocrisy in being able to accept it because of the overwhelming positives brought to the table. All good though

If he doesn't have a monster year, Cee Dee is gone. Wide receivers are a dime a dozen nowadays, and we can find another Cee Dee in the draft.
Diggs will get signed to a big contract or rejoin his brother in Buffalo. I suspect he'll stay. The man has had 3 interceptions in his rookie season in which he missed five games and 11 interceptions in his second season. He's a ball magnet. He may give up big plays, but I don't recall any big plays he gave up that cost us the game.
You don't give up guys who can take the ball away on defense.
Micah?
How much would you like, Mr. Parsons.
Here's a shocking prediction: If Dak doesn't get this team to an NFC Championship before his extension comes up, we let him walk.

Players earning big deals is not a problem.

We've got a 5th year option on Lamb and Dak will likely end up with a 7 year deal that pushes cap hits way into the future when it time for another deal. Literally why he pushed for the short deal. Diggs is the only one to worry about

Sturm is just stirring stuff up to get follows.

I can almost see another Asomugha situation with Diggs. He gets good stats playing in the East but if he went as a highly paid free agent to the NFC West or AFC West his results might mirror Nnamdi’s. They got some slingers in that AFC West that could expose him to an even higher degree

glad to have him but not sure about paying the cost to resign him.
That might be a perfect comparison, but I sure hope not.

We were so upset we got outbid for Nnamdi, and so grateful later when it turned out he was terrible.

Going to be interesting to see if he continues to be a interception machine. Nobody expects him to duplicate last seasons numbers but even getting half has to suggest it’s not a fluke

Digs isn't worth the contract, you all will see that when his interception numbers drop.

It is one on one and no safety help. While it be amazing to see the same amount of interceptions, I still feel he is at least a top 10 CB in this league.

You don't over pay the guy getting cooked by practice squad receivers in training camp.

Diggs has a lot more to prove.

This is silly.

There are high school players who could beat Diggs in 1 on 1.

Playing 1 on 1 is not nearly as easy as some obviously think it is.
