Other than the sack and PBU, he really wasn't in position to make plays. Struggles to stack and shed.

It's true that LVE doesn't stack and shed well, but he covers well and he tackles well in the open field. That's a valuable player, and certainly worth more than his measly salary.

I'm not as down on LVE as others (I get he is no longer in his rookie form). Still, I thought Cox was supposed to be a good player? Wasn't he looking good before his injury last year? Just seems off that he isn't getting any playing time this season.

My guess is after last week they were more worried about the running game. Jabril will get his day, I just think objective #1 today from Quinn was not to be dominated in that run game and out muscled, and take advantage of the weak offensive line on Cindy with the pass rushers. Jabril was the odd man out.

I don't understand this unless he's hurt. I assumed he was hurt. If its a special teams thing....its becoming annoying as hell to see guys be on the team and not be on the team because of that unit. Its special teams for goodness sake. That shouldn't keep him out.
With the current state of the offense, special teams could win a game or two.

I actually thought Vander Esch played one of his better games in a long time. I figured that they either injected the hell out of him with juice or he sold his soul to the devil this year
He had a couple of decent plays. His sack was a Parsons leftover. Plus, i noticed he had poor body language. Didnt look excited. Ive lost faith in LVE.

He is coming off ACL surgery and LB is one of the deeper position groups on this team. I was excited for his potential, but realistically it's always going to be a year removed from surgery before he is physically 100% and he still must take that mental step to the pro level that he didn't get to make last season as it was cut very short. Patience is required.

I'm more concerned that Tolbert can't make the active roster.

He's playing for a contract. He knows his NFL life is on the line this year and flashed some of that potential we saw a rookie yesterday.

It's either Cox is still recovering from the injury or Quinn just prefers LVE & Barr and it's a numbers game.

And it's not like at this point LVE is a recent draft pick being the starter due to the FO. Quinn wasn't the DC when he was drafted either. They let him walk and he came back for near minimum.
So, to me, there's no bias towards him getting the amount of snaps he's getting. LVE is either better or healthier.

It’s a shame because he had the look of a special player his rookie season but I really think the neck issue/subsequent surgery robbed him of range of motion and flexibility.

He’s still more fundamentally sound than Jaylon was at any point.

LVE is actually playing well this year. He played a lot better against the run yesterday than he did against Tampa. I think he even got a sack.
Pretty sure he didnt get a sack. And he was still bad. Barr plays the run way better
