I remember it well.
That was one of my first memories as a Cowboys fan. I had only been watching casually from around '98 and on, 2000 was when I started watching all games.

It’s certainly not an anniversary I celebrate. We got pummeled 41-24 on our way to 5-11. Troy Aikman got knocked out that season, ending his career. What a miserable season that was. It led to 5 years of musical chairs at QB.

The NFL.was a lot funner back then. No excessive celebration penalties. There would surely be such flags flying even just for running to the midfield star.

I hate to T.O, I wish Teague would have knocked his *** out. When Emmitt ran out and planted that ball squarely in the middle of the star, I swear to you, I got goosebumps.

There isn't a single person on the roster who would defend the star like that now. Not one.

On a side not, I can't believe I was only 35 years old when this happened. Damn I'm old now....

I think Micah would and that might be it…….I don’t see Lawrence doing it and he should be the guy leading this defense

I'll never forget that season. How many running backs rushed for 200 yards against us? I think it was three.

I never experienced the outrage some of you people experienced.

It was pretty simple. We were a trash team run by an idiot and his son that couldn't handle it.

Owens did that because he could.

I know some you people who never saw it live that watch the Teague moment and get all teary eyed.

You poor unfortunate souls.

This followed by TO signing with us a few years later changed me as a fan and demonstrated to me how much of a business this game really is. Hell I even started to like and cheer for TO after he signed with us
Like, no. But, yes, cheer when he did something positive on the field to help the TEAM. But I was gone when that clown was gone.

Cowboys also gave up 41 points (only scoring 14) two weeks earlier in the season opener at Texas Stadium to the Eagles - better known as "The Pickle Juice Game".
First of three straight 5-11 seasons to start Dallas Cowboys football in the 21st century.
