Imagine Smith and Peters leading the way for Zeke's head.

Run left. Early and often.

I feel like 95% confident I can tell you who in this thread hated the Tyler Smith pick vs who liked it / had a wait and see attitude.

Tyler Smith, if you go with what he has done on the field, has done nothing but do his job. And considering who is most likely going to be here next year between Tyler, Tyron and Peters, I can't see any reason why you would hold back the guy who has the highest chance to be the LT next year.

So, unless Tyler AND Tyron are injured, there is no reason Peters should take a single snap at LT because I don't see how the Cowboys keep a 40+ year old player when a much younger, and a guy that will be around for a few years at least, is excelling at the position (so far).

I just don't see any benefit of moving the young guy around all year when you know he is going to be the full time LT sooner rather than later.

This “problem” with the o-line you speak of will not matter in the long run when we ultimately (and unfortunately) have a con artist leading behind the line. The man that continuously calls out of run plays to pad his stats. You can try every O-line formation in the book, it will not matter when you have a professional heist man playing behind said talented line. Passes will sail, WR’s will be injured reads will be missed, and he will be sacked regardless of the time they gift him.
What are you talking about? If you have any proof at all that Dak is continuously calling out of running plays, post it. For you to say that you'd have to know several things (and I am sure that you don't). You'd have to know what original play was called. You'd have to know the percentage of plays that were changed and what percentage of those were from running to passing plays. Further, you'd had to have substantial evidence that his motivation is his stat line. If you have ANY evidence that his motivation is his stats, post that. Seriously, post it if you have it. Any evidence of either of those things would be NFL-wide news. But you won't have any of those things. You'll just attack me and act like I can't see him for what he is. You'll talk about how obvious those things are without one bit of evidence to back up this nonsense. The best argument you'll have is that I fell for the con...weak at best. You have nothing but your own voice, and a few others, screaming into an echo chamber.

It's absurd posts like this that make relevant topics hard to discuss. This WHOLE thread was about Peters becoming active and where he might play and how much. Interesting stuff. Will he play LT? LG? Swing tackle? What happens when Tyron returns? But, because you have some poorly veiled agenda, you turn the discussion to a QB that isn't even playing tonight without anything but vitriol to back up your nonsense.

Let me get this straight...nothing we do will make any difference this year because Dak will eventually return, right?

I'm not happy with the way Dak has played. He, and just about everyone else on the team, missed an enormous opportunity last post-season. Dak didn't look good his first game out this year either. I'm not sure he's the answer. But I'm still a Cowboys' fan and I want our players to be successful.

In keeping with what this discussion was supposed to be about, I'm very curious to see when and where Peters works himself into the lineup.

You appear to be correct. Good observation!

They cut WR Dennis Houston but have not filled that spot unless I missed it.

This is the Cowboys roster listing from their website.
- They have WR James Washington on the 53 but he is clearly on IR.
- I'm certain that in the deal they made with Peters, that they committed to moving him to the 53 at some point.
- Otherwise, they're limited in what they can pay him while on the practice squad.

1......Kelvin Joseph
2......Jourdan Lewis
3......Anthony Brown
4......Dak Prescott
5......Bryan Anger
6......Donovan Wilson

Thanks. I’m a roster nerd and keep a spreadsheet of the roster, practice squad, reserve lists, etc. that I constantly update. Yes when they released Houston it dropped to 52. Peters will be the 53rd.

The best short term fix is Tyler Smith at LG and Jason Peters at LT.

If Jason Peters debuts at LG, Tyron Smith got Romo'd and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

Considering how infrequently we see the offense change when Dak audibles, it seems unlikely that he's changing a lot of plays.

I can only accept him on the o-line in its current health with Jason Peters at LR.

Peters if he play at all will definitely not play LT or LR, just kidding about the LR, I know that was a typo.
LR means looser responsibility.
