If 40 year old Peters could get the job done he'd have been doing it already.

Smith has been solid but had a rough game today. He'll bounce back, and handle it until Tyron returns.
Is Peters in any better condition than when signed?
He was way outta shape and overweight.
Hope he's gotten in better shape.

Ok yes Tyler is awsome and before 2 weeks ago Im all in on him never moving from LT....BUT now you have Tyron..can you honestly say dont put Tyron back at LT....Mind you i was for sure i would not until now. i will have to admit i move Tyler to LG...it takes alot to admit this

Please read the entire thread before assuming something I never said.

Of course Tyron goes back to LT when he returns. My issue is with people telling me 40 year old Peters, who has not been able to win the starting job, should replace Tyler after one difficult game. These are two entirely different matters.

My issue with Tyron is not ability - dude's a proven stud - but availability. If his body holds up he'll be a boost, and ease the pressure on the rookie.

Tyron-Tyler left side would be rock solid, if Tyron's body agrees. Tyler is the future at LT, and I think he'll be a good one, but right now give me that left side.

I agree but as a coach, I would do the same, but why not say Tyron your LG and Tyler never leaves LT...again you play Tyorn at LT until he cant but lets not kid ourselves Tyler is the LT next season no doubt.

Connor McGovern about to be the first dude to get benched because the guy next to him ain’t playing well.

To be clear, I agree this is the move! Just sorta funny for Connor, he hasn’t necessarily been “worse” than earlier than year or “bad” per se, he just hasn’t been “better” or “good” either.

Nah, Tyron has been one of the best LTs in football for a decade and never played guard. You bring him back, he plays LT. Tyler's a rookie who took many camp snaps at guard. He also sees who else is in the room. He's got Tyron Smith and Jason Peters, two proven veterans, at his disposal. He'd have to be an idiot to do anything other than what he's being told to do. Kid hasn't struck me as dumb. He'll do what is asked to the best of his ability.

Tyler's future is at LT, but we're talking about now with a contending team and veteran LTs. Tyler will find his place and learn from the vets.

Not sure we'll see vintage Tyron we he gets back. A lot of miles on those wheels and starting to get non contact injuries.

Agreed. A lot of fans don’t want to acknowledge even when “healthy” the past couple of seasons Tyron wasn’t playing at an All Pro level. I would expect even moreso when he comes back from not having played football for months.

Knee jerk reactions to a bad game. Dude was probably a little under the weather. If his poor play continues then it's an issue. But I'm not making a switch after one game.

Wink Martindale is known for his exotic blitzes. He uses them all the time, which is why they lead the NFL in blitzing.

Smith just got fooled a few times and confused about who to take. It isn’t really surprising that he had a little bit of a tough game. It was his first time against a defense like that.

Few defenses are like that… It was a learning experience for him.
Thank you "The Voice of Reason" appreciate the knowledge
