While Connor McGovern’s play as a whole has been solid this season, the guard is not far removed from a brutal holding call against the Green Bay Packers in Week 10.

After surrendering a 28-14 lead in the second half, Dallas had the ball in overtime and a chance to still win. Pollard received a handoff and busted through the center of the line for a big gain, but the play was brought back for a holding call on McGovern.

The play stalled the drive, which was followed by Green Bay eventually winning the game 31-28. McGovern is convinced it wasn’t a hold even after watching the play afterward.

“Once I felt the back go past me, I let go. I didn’t grab anything,” McGovern said. “The ref said I tried to restrict him, tried to tackle him. Watching it on the replay, watching it on the iPad, I still don’t see it.”

Clear as day, the officials screwed the Cowboys over the Packers once again.

crying about refs is a losing game that the losing team plays.
bad calls go both ways. sometimes they help, sometimes they hurt.
Except it happens all of the time when playing the Packers. Care for me to mention the games and years in the past 10 years, or is that still considered a losing game in your book? Some people simply can't handle the obvious.

That Dlineman played the refs too. Was very happy his ploy worked. His reaction is one of satisfaction, not anger over being held. Satisfaction that his dive sold the holding call.
Bingo! Exactly. Proves what the Packers practice in order to win. But, hey, let's not point out the obvious because that is a "loser's game" in some people's views (look at previous post).

How does one throw a DL to the ground without having a handful of Jersey? Did I miss something?

If it had been a well fought game, I’d consider it a bad break that we lost, but the fact is that we deserved to lose that game. The defense was embarrassingly bad and were demolished on the ground.
That doesn't change anything. As quick as you are to rightfully point out how poorly the Defense played, that still doesn't equal to "deserving to lose". Some goes are not going to go as planned performace-wise. Regardless, the Offense was driving in Overtime to win that game, but right on cue as has happened many times in the past 10+ years when playing the Packers, the crooked officials had to step in and make sure they helped the Packers win, bogus calls and all.

Nope. Once again, the refs helped out the Packers. Cowboys were driving to win in overtime.

I think its clear to everyone the Cowboys had their own part in blowing the game.

What isn't clear to everyone is how terrible officiating contributed mightily to the loss.

Imagine a few short plays after the ticky tac hold is called the refs can't seem to find their flags on an obvious PI.

The way we were driving while overcoming crap calls makes it reasonable to believe we may have marched all the way to the endzone.

I'm convinced the only way to beat the Aaron Rodgers lead Packers in Lambeau is to beat them overwhelming. We can't leave anything up to "chance."

Agreed, bro. It still is infuriating how that team playing for that QB gets helped so much all of the time. I was glad to see Coach Mike McCarthy so incensed after the game when talking to reporters. Now he understands how it feels to be on an opposing team against the ever officials-helping Packers.
