If Shultz walks, what is your level of confidence in Ferguson and Hendershot

In small sample sizes, both Ferguson and Hendershot have looked like very capable NFL TE's. I wasnt high in Ferguson, but he is looking like he could become a Shultz like value in the 4th round. Talent wise, Hendershot isnt as far behind as his UDFA status implies. Without the the DV, Hendershot may have went 4th/5th.

How confident are you that either or both of these players can adequately replace Shultz in 2023

Imo they can do what Schultz does. Neither of them will be the next Jason Witten but I'm not worried at all about Schultz leaving.

For the moment I simply enjoy having them all on our team though, what a great bunch. Options galore for Kellen and Dak.

They are gaining a lot of credibility in their performances however, they are not used enough in the offense to form an absolute opinion.

I like them better than Schultz.

Schultz plays like late career Witten. He catches it and falls right to the wrong as soon as he's touched.
I am not sure if it's the injury, but he's definitely reminded me multiple times this season of the old-version of Witten.

His sluggishness and slow running has also made the rookie tight-ends look more like wide receivers at times as they seem so fast compared to him.

Ferguson was my favourite draft pick to be honest. Kid is a future stud. He’s a student of the game, and he can block as well as catch. Schultz is gone. And at his price tag he should be.

That's the one gripe I had about late years Witten was wherever he caught the ball was as far as he was ever going to get.

Schutz is just like that right now. I like how Fergi and Hendershot try and break tackles and get extra yards.

The future is bright with these young guys at tightend. I have 100% faith in Ferguson and Hendershot going forward. I just wish the Cowboys were as good at picking wide receivers and defensive tackles. Shultz should be able to land a decent contract elsewhere and we need to spend that money elsewhere.

I would be a little concerned about Schultz leaving because he’s been a real good security blanket for Dak. The two young TE’s have shown potential, but if Schultz does walk the Cowboys have to prepare themselves with a veteran TE in free agency. You need a dependable pass receiving TE who can get open and move the chains.
