If Shultz walks, what is your level of confidence in Ferguson and Hendershot

Jerry will bring Schultz back. He's Dak's security blanket and Jerry sees Witten in him

He's not wrong lol. Besides, we have something special. We have a Witten with him, a Novacek it seems in Ferguson, and Hendershot. What a group that is! Oh, and McKeon!

In small sample sizes, both Ferguson and Hendershot have looked like very capable NFL TE's. I wasnt high in Ferguson, but he is looking like he could become a Shultz like value in the 4th round. Talent wise, Hendershot isnt as far behind as his UDFA status implies. Without the the DV, Hendershot may have went 4th/5th.

How confident are you that either or both of these players can adequately replace Shultz in 2023
I have argued multiple times that the smartest move we made this offseason was not to hand a large contract to schultz. tagging him was the absolute best option. at the time he was tagged, we didn't really have anyone on the team, draft yet to happen....so we hedged our bets. smart move. now with Ferguson, who is almost a clone of Schultz, maybe more athletic and a bit better blocker and lucking into Hendershot, I think we are in good shape to let Schultz walk and depending on the contrac the gets, get a 3rd or 4th round pick back (I doubt if he gets a large contract given his play this year).

I think we are in good shape for next year. perhaps drafting a blocking TE in lower rounds to really round out the group.

100% confident they can replace schultz easy

if they bring schultz back it willbe a big mistake

not because he is bad he is ok but u dont use cap space on some thing u can easy replace and they already have it on the roster

i think ferguson will be better by himself!

Schultz is completely overrated, he is an average receiving TE who isn't all that great at blocking. So yea, either of those younger guys could fill his shoes for a lot less money.

They'll be fine. The cowboys use of TE's is pretty simplistic. Wont see much of a difference

Schultz is by far the best receiver of the 3. His knack for getting open consistently is rare and grossly underrated on these boards.

That being said, I want him for 8 mil, I don't for 12.

With the team up against the cap again next year, letting Schultz walk makes sense. I think the Cowboys are fine with the group that they have, and can look to add another prospect in the draft.

I don't know it seems to me that betweenthe wr and te groups it's schultz thats made the least errors. I could be wrong but I'm not so sure we need to run him off just yet.

Ferguson is better his rookie year then Schultz wash his second year. Hendershot not fall behind. So yeah we’re good.

There is one post in this thread I agree with. The rest are comments from myopic views of Schultz. The catch in the corner of the endzone against the Giants was much tougher than it looked. I marvel at players who follow the flight of the ball, and when it arrives, the defender is blocking the visual at or near the last second, but the player still makes the catch.

I also seem to recall Schultz running with Pollard to block a safety, then peeled off and blocked another DB for that sweet TD by Pollard. Fact is, Schultz block at the sidelines sprung Pollard's swing pass for TD.

As far as run after the catch, I think the jaded attitudes of many here seems to miss that he does move the ball and moves the chains.

I find it a shame that when a player is at the point in his career he deserves a raise, that this board turns on them. Some might say its because he was holding out. That he was being greedy. But doesn't that speak more to Jerry Jones, who caves in negotiations and over pays than the player who is just trying to capitalize off his football career?

The sanctimony that is displayed, when people vent about him wanting money I find to be hypocritical. There isn't a poster on this board who wouldn't want to pave their way in life from NFL money, when managed correctly. Yet people here act like that cash is coming out of their pockets. It isn't.

Not to mention this trio of TE's is being implemented in a way which appears to be difficult for the opposition to control.

The Stockholm Syndrome is an affect where the person kidnapped begins to identify with its captor. That is what this fanbase is experiencing. The Jones and their ineptitude has kidnapped all of you guys, and now you're seeing logic in their slipshod management, and echoing Little Anus' cheapness.

Schultz is not the enemy.

Complete confidence.

But I don't think Schultz is going anywhere.
why? I dont see the Cowboys even wanting to give Schultz 6 million per with the way the young guys are playing. I really like Schultz, but unfortunately, he is gong to be a business decision loss for us.

My confidence in both of them are Sky High and I've been ready for Schultz to leave for a while now.

I won't miss the false starts in the red zone and the missed run blocking assignments.
