Am I wrong about Hurts?

I was very down on Hurts last year, but the fact of the matter is he's improved dramatically as a passer. He's legit. He's also a better passer than Dak at this point, but many understandably don't want to face this fact. He makes all the throws Dak makes, but without the terrible brain fart picks (e.g., Dak against GB). Plus it appears he has the crucial ability to play under pressure (see the Colts game last week), which Dak can't do (see niners playoff loss).

I think Howie is going to put the Bucky Brooks and Bryan Broaddus theory to test. I don’t think they sign Hurts to an extension. I wouldn’t be surprised if Eagles trade him to Houston for a boat load of draft picks. The Eagles are going to collect weapons, have a veteran backup at quarterback, and draft a young quarterback that can keep the offense moving. The Eagles won’t pay a quarterback unless they have a top 3 one.

Dude is 10-1 this year.

This place would be going nuts if the Cowboys had that record and people were running down their QB.

To paraphrase Bill Parcells, "You are what your record says you are."

Until the Cowboys or someone else eliminates them from Superbowl contention, he's good enough.
They won a shoot out with the Packers, something we couldn't do. They are legit. I'm not saying we are not, but it's not luck what's keeping them up there. Everyone should have understood this by now. Don't know if they keep winning despite Hurts or because of him, but whatever they do, it's working atm.

He can run the ball. Green Bay almost killed them with the hit and the ribs last night. I’m afraid he’s not gonna last long.

They can be scored on Packers prove that. Stop Jaylin from running game over.

This is never happening. Hurts is getting a deal this off-season.

You paying Hurts 45-50 million a season? Let’s see what happens in the playoffs. Hurts was a question mark in offseason and now he is a top flight quarterback.

It's massive risk either way. Let's say they don't resign him. How likely are they to hit on their next young QB? The odds, even with a couple first round picks, aren't great.

They are likely resigning him.

You know Howie brother, Hurts has to play well in the playoffs. They don’t want to get burnt like they did with Wentz. It’s not just the Eagles either or the Wentz situation. Watson, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray and up coming Lamar Jackson contract have to have GMs thinking is this the right move to give these guys 50+.

Eagles have to resign him. He's the Talk of The Town right now and everyone loves him. Time will tell if he can stay healthy with all the running he does. Some D coordinator will eventually figure him out like they usually do but for now he's on top of his game.

Hurts is a good QB. He has plenty of arm strength and behind that OL he has been accurate enough on all the throws. They have created the perfect offense for him too. It will be interesting to see what the Eagles do with him when his rookie deal is up. The way the media is pumping him up his price is going to be very high.

One other thing, Hurts seems to have improved quite a bit since he was drafted. If he continues to improve he could become a top 3 QB in the NFL.

Saying Hurts is good does not detract from Dak. Dak is good too. But Hurts' ability to run, and willingness to run make him more dangerous than Dak. The threat of him running freezes the defense and opens up a lot of other things.

He’s arguably the best running QB in football. When he has to sit in the pocket and throws her mediocre.

I guess until teams figure out how to stop his legs he’s a “good” QB.

Not sure what is gained by saying he sucks. Many on this forum say Dak sucks all the time and what has that gained us?

PS. Answer is nothing on both counts. He's their QB and Dak is ours. Is what it is.

Hurts deserves respect as he went the same route as Prescott as they both realized they had to work on their accuracy and delivery, if they were going to be starting QB's in the NFL.

Hurts put in the work and improved from season to season and if he were not the QB of the Eagles, he would have much more respect than he does here.

Hurts has won with his arm and his feet but the magic is that his management made sure he had plenty of help and surrounded him with a damned good team. At least, they are considered that by football people not looking through bule-tinted glasses.
