Sounds like it was a pretty good game. But damn 363 yards?

Hurts is not a pure pocket passer. If you can keep him in the pocket he will struggle. Dallas needs to play 8 in the box the whole game and smother their rushing attack. Delayed blitzes on the left by a safety would work wonders against those guys.

Screw the Eagles.

So you think your DB’s are going to last playing man vs Eagles WR’s?

And for the record Hurts is top 3 in passer rating from the pocket this year.

Green Bay ran on them. They are not all you make them to be. Green Bay went away from the run.

Well, hopefully Kellen doesn’t go away from the run even when it’s working like he has a tendency to do.

To all the 27 year losing fans said Suh or Joseph will be trash can eat their crows. Eagles DL is now one of the best and will present a problem for the Cowboys running game in the re-match.

Packers Game
Suh was 6th in snaps played by an Eagles interior DLineman.

Colts game
Suh was 5th in snaps played by an Eagles interior DLineman.

Pack avg over 5 yards a carry last night, and they gave up 33 points.

Dallas D could give up 17 and youd be in here saying our D is trash and we have no shot.....smh

I'm just giving my suggestions on how to play the Eagles. But since you are so much smarter than me...how do you suggest we play them?

P.S.
It's easy to have a good passer rating when you aren't passing all that much. A number of QB's in this league can have good ratings if they only threw 26 times a game.

Agreed.

The Eagles holding the Psckers to only 106 total rushing yards was pretty good. We definitely could have used Ndamukong Suh. Oh, well...Jerry had best hope our Dline holds Hurts and the Eagles to around 100 yards or less when our Cowboys host them on December 24, especially with possibly the division title and better playoffs seeding on the line if the Eagles lose 1 game from now until we meet them. If not, Jerry and this coaching staff is going to look like complete fools and possibly another wasted season.

Just curious, are the Niners gonna look like complete fools if they dont win the SB? Are the Bills going to look like complete fools when they lose to the Chiefs..... AGAIN?

I still think that their run defense is a weakness for them, which could cost them in the playoffs. Even some NFL analysts are saying that they are concerned about the Eagles run defense and defense overall. One of the reasons why the Packers didn't get more yards is because they were either trailing all game or because the OC decided to throw the ball, when they were getting 5 yards per carry and the Eagles defense was able to get a couple of turnovers to prevent more rushing yards being racked up against them.

The Eagles defense thrives off of their team having a lead, in a similar manner to what the Cowboys defense does. But can get into trouble in a close game or a game in which the other team has the lead and can keep rushing the ball on them. Well. see how they manage to do against the Titans with Henry getting a bunch of carries.

Does seem like some Cowboys fans on this forum gets defensive or offended when others suggest that the Eagles may have weaknesses or deficiencies on their team in which better teams might be able to exploit or aren't the invincible team some make them out to be.

Don't worry about the Niners and Bills. We need to worry about stopping the run if we ever wish to reach a conference championship game, much less a Super Bowl.

There is a reason I asked my question. We played the Iggles already, and had Dak been playing, Im thinking we would have won that game. They were barely up 3 with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter, even after being handed the ball 3 times in the first half.

But you keep fawning all over them, or as a coach once said, "If you want to crown em, well then crown their arse."

I watched the game last night because it was actually on.

Honestly, I had to look, but Suh didn't have one tackle or assist last night (I looked because I wasn't certain if he was in there or not).

Someone here mentioned it on another thread (about teams giving up on the run), but watching the game last night, it seemed that the packers only had a combined 105 yards rushing, but I thought it was more than that. They had one guy who averaged 8 yards a carry, but he only ran 8 times, and I can't help but wonder why they didn't run him more? Seems like teams get behind and they automatically give up on the running game if they have some success with it early on, but give up on it to quick.

I do however think what the eagles paid for both Suh and Joseph combined was well worth the money chump change they paid to have both players help the line at the same time.

Football is a TEAM sport. One man can not win every game by himself. For every great QB, he has a good defense to help him win the game. I was surprised at that new kid in the backfield on D, Blankenship. He was out of position on that one TD catch and run, but overall he looked to have a solid game and he didn't look afraid out there.

I do think the Cowboys will win at home vs the eagles, but if they were to lose, it will most likely come down to the coaching and time management.

You guys may hate to hear this, but I'm just thankful that the NFC east isn't the laughing stock of the league this year. IMO it just adds credibility to the Cowboys record. They are a good team capable of making it to the Super Bowl. I won't lie, how some fans feel about the Eagles coach is how I feel about the Cowboys ownership LOL

Eagles are a top team and they will be hard to beat. But it doesn't mean they are beatable....because they are. Put a good passrush on Hurts and he will start to fold.

We gifted them with 3 INTs and no Dak. Yet we played them very close. Sure, they are the top team this year to beat. But they are certainly beatable.

Selling out to stop the run is definitely the best approach. Just saying playing man behind is dangerous because of the WR talent and the fact that in man it’s much easier for Hurts to scramble. IMO zone is a better approach since it forces anticipation throws, while also keeping defenders facing the LOS.

Stopping the RPO, RPR etc you need the option man (typically the DE) to play feather technique where you don’t fully commit either way. Easier said than done but Dallas’ DE’s are athletic enough. It comes down to being disciplined in the technique during the game since it’s a somewhat passive technique.

X-mas Eve should be a good day be. It will be interesting to see the adjustments both teams make.

5 yards per carry.

Yes, they ran all over them and it would have been worse if they kept doing it. Also a 20 yard rushing td was called back for a BS holding.

Joseph had 2 tackles and Suh did nothing.

Quinn had a qb hit.

We are shaking.

21 carries 106 yards

39 carries 207 yards

Which defense did GB really run all over????
