I'm sure someone has already brought this up but the later we get in the season the more I wonder if bringing in OBJ is going to hinder this offense more than it will help. Ideally, we'd want him in uniform this week or next week as the next 3 games are against AFC teams with weak records and would be perfect for OBJ to get his feet wet, as I'm concerned that his dynamic will take some getting used to from his perspective and from Dak/Kellen's. Of course it will be great to have another weapon on the field the defenses have to account for (at the very least to free up someone else), but I'm worried that his insertion into the offense will cause Dak and Kellen to start forcing him the ball, he won't like the limited touches he will get per game, and we will get away from the play calling and offensive production that has us averaging close to 30 points per game since Dak's return. I wonder if utilizing the 3-headed TE monster, Pollard lined up at WR, etc., will, in the long run, provide better results that are harder for opposing defenses to scheme for than adding OBJ and running more predictable 11-personnel plays?

Obviously the perfect scenario is OBJ coming in, being a perfect teammate, Kellen getting even more creative with his playcalling and creatively utilizing all of his weapons in an unpredictable fashion, Dak and OBJ having immediate chemistry, Dak continuing to make great reads and throws and not forcing anything to OBJ just because he's there (and potentially demoralizing Ceedee in the process), but with OBJ likely not suiting up until the last 3-4 games at best, I'm worried that working out the kinks too late in the season with the NFC East on the line could cost us.

TL;DR - Adding OBJ could disrupt the currently very productive offense more than it will help them, and why mess with a good thing? That could result in losses, which is bad. Winning is good.

It would be good if CeeDee had a veteran WR on the roster to learn from. The only #1 type WR that he has leaned from was Amari Cooper. It would be good if he learned from a more aggressive type personality (In My Opinion).

CeeDee still needs to improve his route running. Maybe it fine tuning at this point, but to become truly elite he does have to become a master route runner.

Much of the fine tuning is likely just perspective or "scenario thinking". Veterans that have been top tier players can offer insight that coaches cannot unless the coach was a previous NFL All-Pro type like DB coach Al Harris.

It all depends in the personality of the veteran player.
Jason Peters - Yes
Tyron Smith - No
Sean Lee - Yes
Jason Witten - No
Tony Romo - Yes
Brett Farve - No
Randy Moss - Yes
TO - No

Apparently Randy Moss was in the Yes category.
- If Randy Moss helped younger WRs then it possible that OBJ would do it also.
- Maybe even more than 6Moss because OBJ had to work at it to become a top tier WR; whereas, Randy Moss (6-4, 210, 4.2 forty) just rolled out of bed bigger & faster than all the DBs covering him.
- OBJ 5-11, 198, 4.43 had to master route running in order to become an elite WR.

I don't. Unless it's for something like a veterans minimum. Two ACL tears in the same knee isn't good.

Run the damn ball! If we do there's no need for him. With the emergence of our TE corps they will help in both areas.

Save that money for next year so we can bring back some of these guys and maybe add a big FA next year.

Pollard will probably get a franchise tag. People here have yelled not to give RB's a second contract. I'm sure someone is going to offer him a big contract with the way he's playing.

Nah, I don't want anything to influence KM into throwing the ball more. December is running back not receiver season. Last thing this team needs is somebody in KM or Dak's ears about getting the ball more. Stick with the no name WR core, run multi tight end sets...a lot, and get all 3 running backs plus Dakota meaningful carries in the remaining games. This team has a stable of running backs, 2 Pro Bowl veteran offensive linemen in Smith/Peters about to be back in the mix, a mobile QB, one of the best defenses in the league, one of the best special teams units in the league, and a coach with Super Bowl experience. Those are the ingredients of a power football team built to win in December and Dallas doesn't need OBJ making the recipe too salty. If he can get off the plane I say let him go take a bite of the Big Apple again.

The Cowboys players seem psyched about getting him. I think that could boost team confidence which is a critical issue in the playoffs.

Confidence/attitude was a huge part of the.winning formula with the early Nineties Cowboys SB winning teams.

When you get a chance to add a WR of his level at this point in the season it should not even be a question.

A surgically repaired left ankle and a twice surgically repaired left knee. To go along with hip issues early in his career.Let's just say I do not expect him to be the old OBJ. So in the words of Randy Jackson....that'll be a NO for me dawg.

A 30 year old receiver, coming off his second ACL surgery, who hasn't played a game or practiced since February of 2021, was recently escorted off a flight for refusing to comply with safety protocols, and signing him shouldn't even be a question? Yeah I question it. OBJ for the last two seasons has only 856 yards, 8 TDs, and 67 receptions. He hasn't caught double digit TDs since 2016. I can't think of a thing he'd bring to this team other than his mouth.

Yes, not only does he upgrade the unit, but he also protects from injury. If Lamb would ever go down, don't think anyone would be scared of Gallup/Noah on the outside.

Did he not just help a team win a Super Bowl last year?

He has accomplished more that this team has in decades & has the hardware to prove it.

Seems people's personal dislike of this player is more important that winning apparently.

I’ve been consistent ever since this rumor started. I don’t think he’s some big upgrade and I’ve always thought he’s one of the most overrated players in football.

He has his ring already. I get the feeling he will use this to con the Cowboys into wearing the star and reaping the benefits (not even sure how healthy he is + it will take some time for him to get to the level needed to play).

Would have rather had T.Y. Hilton a long time ago
