The Giants signed Kenny Golladay to a 4.year 72M contract in 2021. He ended up getting paid 36M for 2 years.

His receptions per season with the Lions prior to signing with NYG:
28
70
65
20
Their previous GM Dave Gettleman went back to back in 2 of the worst contracts in their franchise history with first Nate Solder and then Golladay.

Why would they give him that contract?

Why would Dallas give Ezekiel Elliott the deal they gave him? He's consistently regressed since year 1.

No one can make the case the Cowboys are "smarter" than the NYG, going back 25+ years.

It was nice for awhile to have someone worse than Jerry. Between Gettleman, Judge, Garrett etc you wish that could’ve went on much longer.

I think the Giants and Commanders will both improve with new regimes. It was a pretty crappy division for awhile.
It was. But as for the Giants, that Daboll as HC of the year was legit. They had no business winning that many games. Outstanding coaching.

IF Daniel Jones has 1or 2 legit receiving weapons along with an improved o-line they may be onto something. DO not get me wrong, I don't think Jones is Josh Allen, lol
But the fact that Daboll is the one credited with developing Allen is noteworthy. Cuz Allen sucked _ _ _ his first year too.
GM Schoen and Daboll's past together at Buffalo gives me reason to consider them an ascending pair for sure.

If Washington gets its QB situation figured out the Commanders may have something there as well. Their defense totally embarrassed Dallas in the second game.

Wonder how many posts in the Giants fan zone are listing the many examples of where the Giants are smarter than the Cowboys. Probably not a hard list to come up with.

That being said, that is one deal they did that is stupid.
Giants have been very bad the last 10 years. I doubt that list would be long

For everyone dissing on Jerry lately, which seems like the popular thing to do even though he's had back-to-back winning seasons, they fail to realize that it's the things he hasn't done that have gotten us to where we are.

With Mahomes in the league right now, I, for one, am appreciative of that.

Next year is a better year to gamble if we do this right.

Personally, I'm expecting an offensive-heavy draft, and for us to take the east from the Eagles next year. We're in better position to do that this year.

I'd rather have a vet at WR, but if we don't get one, I"m OK with getting a mid-round vet and a top-rated WR early on.

I don't care about the last 27 years, what's happened in the past 5 is the most relevant.

Jones is developing just fine.

He'll be in the mix of the top 10 when it's all said and done.

Dallas better get ready for that with their own response at QB after Dak, and they should do it in this draft.

I'd go Hooker or Hall. It's hard for me to believe Hall hasn't been looked at more in the earlier rounds, like before the 4th round. I think he'll go pretty soon after the 2nd.

When Jones gets some weapons, he'll be dangerous.

Golladay suffered from the same issues that made others believe RW11 would be awesome here. Detroit WR during the Stafford era suffered mostly from garbage time stats.

I would enjoy a new Dak replacement QB being drafted and given some playing time this year as well. Sign me up for that.

I also see Jones improving as well.

Just stop it. The Cowboys have been way more relevant than the Giants have been over that time frame. Just ignore those Super Bowls..

As far as Zeke, the problem wasn't so much him getting paid as it was he wasn't playing to the level he was getting paid, so the Cowboys had to cut bait to make that make any sense.
