PFT: Jalen Carter says the Eagles will take him at 10 if he is there

They are welcome to him and the headaches that I see coming with him

Strong rumors that they are trying to land Will Anderson and making the groundwork for such a trade.
I can't make sense of that.

On the field Jalen Carter is the best player in this draft. I completely understand the concerns. Heck, I am captain concern when it comes to red flags. So, if folks drop him some that's completely reasonable.

But if a guy like him is falling toward my position why would I pay a premium to move up and draft Anderson? Anderson is a fine player but a player who isn't even the clear cut best at his position according to a lot of chatter.

Something about this is off. Either someone is making a very questionable decision or there are pieces to the puzzle that haven't been revealed.

Rumor is they are trying to trade up for a pass rusher, but know they will take Carter if he falls to 10 if not trade has been made. They are in excellent position to do whatever they want.

Couple of things with this:

GMs tell players all the time they’ll take them if they’re there, then pass on them. It just hype talk at top 30 visits. If there’s a GM in the NFL who may manipulate the narrative to his advantage, Howie Roseman is probably going to be that guy

Howie sets up trade parameters with every team above and below him every year before the draft. That way if he ever wants to move, he can just call a team up and say “agreed upon trade is a go” and it’s done. He’s been doing that for years, so any story that the Eagles are calling other teams to move up is 100% true and 100% a nothing burger… unless it isn’t. Eagles have made the most first round trades of any team over the last 5 years

Are you saying he's actually a prepared and competent GM?

That doesn't seem fair ...

If that's true, the Cowboys need to make sure they get Darnell Wright cuz Will couldn't do **** against him.

Sure makes it easy to hope he's one of those players that sits there not hearing his name called pick after pick.

This then becomes the part of the exercise where we try to rationalize a divisional rival made a really bad pick.

I'd trade a nut for a DT prospect like Carter. You absolutely take risks on that kind of talent.
Well, it's possible because he's got some issues, and I'll certainly hope he busts if he goes to Philly.
