Started off slow but he's making his presence felt now. He signed for a pretty modest sum (~$3.5m) because he wanted to be a Cowboy so I think he might be down to return on a similar salary in '26. He'd be a good player to, at least, fall back on if we can't grab a Strong Side End in the draft.
He was worth it at that cost and it was heavily incentive based

I think the DTs being much better is a big factor in that, but the DEs are getting better too.

Absolutely, then you still have Clowney and his instincts and he can help this draft pick learn more quickly. Veterans such as Clowney are very important to a team in more ways than just individual play. I think veterans are great for rookies.
Nah. We got Parsons at 12 who's played like a #1 overall. If Clowney was a low 1st Rounder or a 2nd, people would think better of what he's produced. There'd still be disappointment if he were 10th overall.
Uh, no. Players come to Dallas for the national exposure to work towards max dollars. You get more eyes seeing you perform maybe you'll get more offers.
Agreed. Obviously we all would have liked a few wins earlier in the season, but there are plenty of examples of teams getting hot at the end of the season. Can Dallas be one of those teams? That's TBD, but we're all hoping....................Sometimes it’s all about timing. Keep stacking wins and see what happens.
Well that was my point though right he didn't have to have a grueling training camp he didn't have to go through the practices he missed the first Six or seven games he had fresh legs.

This would be the ideal move to make, good post. The future looks bright now with this defense. The draft needs are pure common sense, Safety - Defensive End - Nickel Corner Back and Linebacker.

What Dallas needs to do in my opinion is keep Pickens and Javonte Williams and the rest of this offense intact and continue building this defense with Safety- Linebacker -Defensive End and Nickle Corner.
The beast within won't allow him to coast into retirement. Need to get him signed to a deal that is favorable to the Cowboys, that keeps him here for the next 2 or 3 yrs.
Guys need to start paying attention to all these moves being made they're really also for twenty twenty six they don't have that many draft picks.
Safety in the 1st round is kind of a luxury pick, but if it's a rare generational talent then go for it, I guess?
