Based on talent-
1) Romo
2) White
3) Staubach
4) Aikman
5) Meredith

Romo either owns or will own every Cowboys passing record when he's done. Danny White was a great QB that beat most of Staubach's records but is labeled like Romo. Staubach was named Captain Comeback for a reason and our best running QB. Aikman never put up great numbers but his accuracy was second to none and he had more help than any other QB. Aikman teams had the #1 offense with the help of the NFL's leading rusher Emmitt Smith, and the #1 Defense, so a lot of QB's could have played on that team and did ok.

lol, enough said... you just have to lol

Aikman is really hard to rank and judge because he really never had to do much here besides hand the ball off.

Romo will finish his career as the all-time Cowboys leader in Yards, TDs (already is), Rating, 4th Quarter comebacks(already is), Completion %, Int % and quite possibly game winning drives. IF he doesn't win a SB, he will not be considered the best QB to play for the cowboys even with all these stats.

Yes he will. Not by the Romo haters he won't, but by the real Cowboys fans he will.

One big disadvantage that Tony has with the other QBs is that they had Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson as head coaches and he has had Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett. That's huge.

A fan who appreciates success would not rank romo ahead of roger, aikman. A fan who is more concerned with regular season stats instead of superbowls might.

Yes and no IMO. Yes, in that Coach Landry and Jimmy were oriented towards very balanced Offenses. They played much more into Field Position and other concepts that lend themselves towards helping the Defense but not necessarily providing the Offense with more opportunities.

No in that Tony, under Phillips and Garrett, not so much. Basically, while not as accomplished coaches, Tony has benefited from having much more control over the Offense then he would ever have had under Jimmy or Coach Landry and much more opportunity to throw. Statistically, it's helped him a lot IMO.

I put the order in chronological order. That is just to confuse the discussion of who was the best.

The only reason I put Romo at the top is because the Cowboys don't have the other four.

And the other four did not have the teams that Romo plays on, and Romo has not played on teams that those other greats played with. But all of them played, and are playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

You are right about that. But as far as wins and losses go, it's the other way around.

Well the question was "how" would you rank them so I suppose chronologically is just as good as any.

You can't compare what happened between times. There is no way to say which of those greats are the best. But, it's really nice to have the one that we have.

The problem with Romo is that...he wastes to much time with Candice! Romo's mind is not right, now. He has no smarts, he is rich, and, he is the QB of the Dallas Cowboys! Stay away from him...
