A solid draft, better luck on health, who knows. Sure I'm excited. Miss football already!

No because at the end of the day the 2 most important parts of a team are the head coach and QB. Unfortunately, I believe we have a clueless coach and a QB that plays his worst on the biggest stages. The rest of the chairs will be shuffled once again, but it won't matter because of the dynamics of our HC/QB situation.

For myself, the excitement will return when this team gets a combination that can lead this team to contention.

Why do people think this? Jerry obviously wants to win, and he's obviously willing to pay to do so. He's just not good at it and he's got some personal ego-drivin eccentricities that create dysfunction where none should exist.

It's enough that he does these things. We don't have to also believe he doesn't actually want to win. He doesn't have to be 100% the devil if the 25% or whatever part of him that actually *is* the devil is enough to keep us from having the success we want and expect.

I do agree with you here.

I do believe Jerry wants to win. He badly wants to win so he can get the adulation he so desperately craves.

And I also believe that Jerry doesn't know what it takes to build a winning organization. And the proof of that is the past 18 or so years. The adulation he so badly needs blinds him such that he won't do what is necessary to actually win. It's a vicious circle. The more he wants to win, the more he does to actually prevent winning.

But it is some consolation for him that he still makes boatloads of money despite a subpar product.

Really? Like, the year we went into the season with a 41 year old Vinny Testaverde, you were excited? That was maybe the worst season I can remember, because it was obviously a rebuilding year without much to really look forward to.

I'm always excited when I think the team has a realistic expectation to be better in the coming season than in the one that just ended. Especially when the playoffs are a realistic option. If I'm thinking we're likely to get worse, or that even if we get better, the playoffs are unrealistic, it's a lot harder for me to get up for the season. I still won't trash the team, but it's not the same enthusiasm.

This season, I don't really think we can get worse on defense, but I'm dubious we can make enough changes to have me expecting we're going to be significantly better, either. I'd really like to see us get significantly better there, so I imagine I'll go into camp next year relatively guarded with my expectations. Right now, I'm pretty ambivalent about things because there are just so many moving pieces on that side of the ball.

Well yes ....... because anything can happen in Football and I did not see him remaining the starter all year.

Sorry idgit but I do not give up before a game is even played ....... not my nature.

I'm always excited for football. If losing killed my excitement, it would have happened a long time ago.

I don't think it's a question of giving up.

It's a question of honestly evaluating the talent on the team in relation to the rest of the league. And the ability of management to improve the team....or not improve the team.

Nobody gives up. Everybody wants the team to win. Otherwise they wouldn't post here.

Love football so yes I will be excited. As for this team, no. I love to watch Romo play, but having to watch the redhead spew out garbage about getting better and his process will be disgusting.

If JG's teams actually were good, and did get better, it would be more believable. Spewing this crap out about needing to be more balanced, etc is a load of crap. In fact I would argue that JG is more full of crap then Jerry now!

Not really to be honest. I want them to win, as always, but I don't see much hope that we can be a championship caliber team. As it stands, I expect this to be a sub .500 team. I would be delighted to be proven wrong, of course. Maybe I'll feel differently after the draft. We'll see.

I'm sorry, but my enthusiasm has been snatched away. I just don't see this team improving under current management. :(

The team woke up Kiffin to inform him he's now assistant HC. YYEEEESSS!!

THEN.........they hired what's his face for 'Official Playcaller'.

I finally obtained inner-galactic hope when jerry said he was gonna evaluate his role. And this time he means it, ******!

Everything else should fall right into place.........

Its the same every year for me. Tony Romo. This will be a very interesting year for him coming off back surgery.

Is this the year that everybody WON'T be talking about the Dallas Cowboys? If so, that's a really good thing.
Of course I am. I am a football fan. That's all I need to be excited about a season.

I'm not very excited right now.
If they make some significant changes--especially on defense--that could change in a hurray.

I always wonder if people like this actually watched the Cowboys this season. We lost five games by three or fewer points despite losing a ton of DLinemen in a year in which we transitioned to a 4-3. Of course I'm excited -- this team isn't that far from contending.

This right here...

How many games did the Cowboys lose where we outplayed the opposition, only to make a critical mistake/coaching error/brain fart, and end up losing? KC? San Diego? Detroit? Green Bay? On the other side of the ledger, I only see two games Dallas got outplayed but ended up winning, those being Minnesota and Oakland (which Dallas still dominated the second half).

This defense will be better next season, and the offense really wasn't the problem that all the Chicken Littles like to tell us it was. In consistent---yes. Terrible on 3rd downs---yes. Nonetheless, it was one of the better offenses in the NFL in many categories.

Mark it down---if Romo can come back healthy and survive the season, this team ends up no worse than 10-6. And yes, I feel comfortable making that prediction even before the draft.

It's FOOTBALL; it's the fresh hope that comes with every draft; it's the smell of fresh cut grass and the sound of pads smacking in training camp; it's the whiff and comradery of the locker room. Sometimes it's victory, sometimes defeat. I'm old enought to have experienced plenty of both and far sighted enough to recognize the value of either.

Heck yes i'm excited. It's the COWBOYS! I feel bad for any fan thats notIf your not excited.
