LOL if Aikman, Staubach, White and Romo where the same age, and on the same team, Romo would be on the practice squad.

Well, they all wouldn't be on the same team because you can't afford that. Morton was a very good QB and he got traded to get rid of the controversy.

Each one brings something to the table. Aikman had a gun and was very accurate. Staubach was the least athletic of them all but he was a leader and certainly talented enough. White was probably the most athletic of them all. Romo has more Tarkenton than Tarkenton and is able to see the field better on the move than any of the above.

QBs don't win it by themselves although they're awfully important. You can't win it all without a good QB unless you have a unique defense.

they're so cute when they're young.

you got a better chance of diverting a major river with a rock.

It's entertaining watching people get older and start turning on the next generation. If you start pining for the 90's, I think I will be sick.

I've been torn on Ware but call him a bum?!! Get real, he's a HOF'er. He will bounce back and have 12+ sacks this year, hopefully for us although I hope we draft Ealy...

Austin a bum? Maybe just a drunk who ruined his hammy's by depleting his body with drinking...

Austin isn't the only one who had hamstrings problem. His is just recurrent. It needs to be addressed....properly.

Yeah, I really don't the reason for calling Ware a bum or loser or any unflattering description of him. Ware exhibited nothing but class during his tenure with the Cowboys and has been one of the best players on the team for a long time, yes he's been hurt for last few seasons and his production has been dropped of but I can only hope that he gets fully recovers and have a superb season.

I don't have any bad feelings toward Austin either, but I think he is done as a Cowboys and he should be released, imo.

Couldn't agree more. Ware will be back though. No way a player of his capability is done at age 31. Doesn't happen. Saving alot of these posts would make a good laugh out of this time next year.

I agree that Ware probably has 2 or 3 years left in him.

The problem is the money.

It would be stupid for Dallas to restructure.. So that is what they will probably do.

If he won't take a paycut then it's in our best interest for the future to let him go.

Ware is no bum, except to the people who called for the other guy they wanted drafted, but even as i was calling for Ware in his early years, it doesnt ring true today. I cant help if some people dont understand father time waits for no man, and Wares time has come. It sucks, we all want to hang on to glory, but do i really need to pay him to run past qbs? No, do i need to pay him to stand on the sidelines, no, and do i need him to run around with a stinger? no, His time has come and i for on dont want to be holding the contract when he is forced to quit before its up. Ware was a beast of a player, but time has taken its toll on him and now we see the game needs younger men. Dont worry the next player wont be complaining. Its time to make the move, its the only move.

I don't understand why you would say this.

Because it's my opinion maybe? I don't understand why you would question this. Not one single player from this era will be remembered fondly for me. Ware filled up a stat sheet. Cool. That's where it ends. Romo fills up stat sheets more than any other QB we have had as well.

No one is saying it's not your opinion. It's just such a ridiculously silly opinion that many find it hard to believe someone would actually harbor it.

Can we show a little class as a site or better yet, a fanbase? Yeah, Ware seems to be on the down side and Austin is just not ever healthy enough to merit his salary but do we need to call players names?
"Bum" or "loser" is so degrading to players who were once vital pieces to our puzzle.
Ware is one of the greatest players for this franchise and people can actually stand to call him a bum.

Raise your internet hand if you've ever played football. How physically demanding was it? Could you play at age 31? Have some mutual respect for players, people, please.

I agree I don't think Ware is a bum or a loser. I think he has been a class act who for the last 2 season has been slowed up by injuries. As for his future in Dallas I think unless he takes a cut in pay that it is not in Dallas interest to keep him but not personal just business.

Staubach was the least athletic of them all but he was a leader and certainly talented enough.

Why is this a perception of Staubach? From all accounts, he was a fantastic athlete. I would say the best of the bunch.

And you do realize that Romo ran a 5.01 40? Staubach, 4.67. Aikman, 4.68.

Romo is actually one of the least athletic QBs in the league.

Except it's not. How will Ware be remembered 20 years from now? Will it be like Haley, Lilly, Martin and others? Not even close. It will be "oh yeah that guy who filled up the stat sheet in the sacks column"

Ware is not one of the greatest to put on a Dallas uniform. Again, being great is more than just your own personal accomplishments. And that goes for every player in this dark era. The nucleus of Romo, Witten and Ware has generated absolutely nothing but mediocrity. Heck even the some of the Buffalo Bills aren't looked at as fondly and Andre Reed just finally got into the HOF. And and they went to 4 Super Bowls in a row. This core has won one measly wild card game.

So sorry if I don't gawk over Ware.

You certainly welcome to your opinion and if you notice I didn't raze you about it. It's just so extreme that I really wondered and I even thought you might be using sarcasm. If you want to think of Ware that way be my guest. I don't care and why would I?

But he's headed to the HOF and there is only a very few at his position that I would put on his level including Too Tall, Haley, and Harvey Martin to mention three. In fact he's among the best pure pass rushers I've ever seen which includes Deacon Jones, Reggie White, Eller, and Smith. I think Taylor was better and maybe Reggie but that's arguable. That's not just my opinion but most in the sport. He also is the 2nd fastest ever to reach 100 sacks behind Reggie. He came within a half sack of being the first person to every post multiple 20 sack seasons.

So when someone thinks he isn't one of our greatest players then I'm a tad mystified.

White was a better all around athlete by a decent amount. Roger is incredibly competitive from the stories I've gotten and played White at basketball and ping pong often. White routinely beat him which pissed Roger off. Roger might be the least athletic of all them although Romo is probably close. Roger would be my choice with the game on the line though. He was perhaps the best competitive football player of them all.
