OMG

Did I just read cliff and Charlie, Ed Jones, deion sanders and Darren woodson were better than demarcus ware?

come on man. People are getting crazy.

cliff and Charlie better than ware.

with that I am out of here.

Yes. They were all better than Ware. They all played big in big games. Ware often disappeared in big games. (other than one game against NO, and that was not a playoff game.) They all were leaders, not followers. So yes, I think they were all better than Ware. Recency gives false impressions. But why stop with those guys, how about?:
Mel Renfro
Cornell Green
Harvey Martin
Randy White
Bob Lily
Chuck Howley
Leroy Jordan

If I had to choose between Demarcus Ware and any one of the above named players, in their prime, Ware would lose.

i have to agree with you.( except for the DB's) Ware was great but he lacked nastiness , leadership , and was never clutch.

You are one of my all-time favorite player, you are a very classy football player and classy human being, I immensely enjoyed watching you create havoc on other team's offense and I will miss all that. Thank you D. Ware, you'll always be one of my favorite Cowboy!!!

Great player and solid citizen who played for the club during it's most abysmal stretch as a franchise - hardly his fault. Couldn't wish him anything but all the best.

Thank you, sir.

We'll always have that Atlanta game as a testimony of his on-field impact.
He was one of the great players of the last 10 years. I didn't think he was other-worldly like LT (whom he was once compared to) and thought he could have developed more pass rush moves, but he was a class individual.

I hope he lands on a Super Bowl contender/winner.

That's what I'm talking about. I love Dware and what he done for us but people are on here acting like we are the eagles or tampa bay and haven't ever had many great players.

Young fans never seen Dallas when they were THE DALLAS COWBOYS. And the older fans seem to have forgot that we have had just as many if not more great players than any other franchise in NFL history. Despite being mediocre the past 20 years.

I would have Dware around 15-20th greatest cowboy on defense

Ware was my favorite defensive player and I will miss seeing him out there with the star on his helmet. I wish him only the best in Denver and hopefully he gets his sb ring. Thank You!!!

Ware is now thanking Jerry, which strangely enough makes me feel a bit better. Hearing him talking about finishing his career is telling as well.

Have the same pit in my stomach that I had when Troy and Emmitt were cut. Such a tough business. It's so rare these days for player to stay with his team throughout an entire career. I miss those days.

Good luck, Ware. You deserve so much better than what you've had to put up with the last five years or so. Unfortunately, the team couldn't capitalize on the success it had during the early part of your career. Hopefully you'll get that chance in Denver.

Lookin forward to seeing him take Jimmy or Terrys place on Fox pre game show in a couple years with Jared Allen to form the greatest defensive line to ever host a TV show.

I was sad to see Troy cut also, but the difference being at least he didn't finish his career with another team. Hopefully when it's time for Ware to retire, he can comeback and retire a Cowboy just like Emmitt did
